Levin: ‘No Country Can Survive with Open Borders’

On his nationally syndicated radio show Thursday, Mark Levin stated that “[n]o country can survive with open borders,” in response to the recent controversy over the United States’ immigration policies.
“It is pedal, gas pedal pushed down all the way to open borders,” Mark Levin said. “No country can survive with open borders – none. No culture can survive; no civilization can survive.”
Mark Levin’s comments came after the Trump administration has been criticized by media for its “zero-tolerance” immigration policy. President Trump, on Wednesday, signed an executive order halting family separation at the border.
Below is a transcript of Mark Levin’s remarks from his show Thursday:
“What of the fact of the dangers of not having a secure border that encourages people to come to this country illegally and so forth and so on? Not even part of the debate. Not even part of the debate. What of the fact that prior administrations—not even part of the debate. It is pedal, gas pedal pushed down all the way to open borders.“No country can survive with open borders – none. No culture can survive; no civilization can survive.“But I fear we’re reaching a point, given the demographics in this country, where it’s becoming politically more difficult and soon impossible, to fix the course that we’re on. Moreover, when you look at the federal courts, they’re largely aligned against us.
“I don’t mean to be dire. I’m not trying to throw wet blankets all over the place. I’m trying to be quite realistic about this.“This should be a no-brainer: you secure the border; you do it with physical barriers, whatever you need to do it with. People who bring kids over here, they’re as quickly as possible deported, and yet we have the courts that set up a very complex due process system and so forth and so on.
Due process for what? You came into the country. Now get out.“We have lawyers, domestic and foreign, who are advising people on how to break our laws, encouraging them to do so, and they continue to remain members of the bar. And they’re proudly celebrated.“I think this is a very complicated matter. Those of us who believe in the rule of law, right from wrong, who revere the American culture, are worried about the future of the country, who reject lawlessness, who reject the progressive agenda, I think we’re on defense.”
