TRUMP LAYS DOWN IMMIGRATION CHALLENGE TO DEMS
Demands wall, end to chain migration in exchange for DACA
President Trump Friday laid down an immigration challenge to Democrats, insisting on funding for a border wall, an end to chain migration and abolition of the so-called diversity visa program.
The president tweeted: “The Democrats have been told, and fully understand, that there can be no DACA without the desperately needed WALL at the Southern Border and an END to the horrible Chain Migration & ridiculous Lottery System of Immigration etc. We must protect our Country at all cost!”
In September, President Trump ended the DACA amnesty program that Barack Obama created by executive fiat, which shielded more than 800,000 so-called DREAMers from deportation.
At the time, President Trump called on Congress to come up with a solution to the DACA issue. However, reports President Trump had reached an agreement with the Democrats to keep the DREAMers in the country infuriated conservatives. Trump quickly pushed back against such reports.
Today, it appears Trump is seeking to use the DACA amnesty as a bargaining chip to achieve some of his larger goals, including abolishing what he calls the “ridiculous Lottery System of Immigration.”
This is a reference to the “diversity visa,” which, through a lottery system, gives up to 55,000 foreigners, their spouses and their unmarried children permanent residency.
Chain migration has been identified by the Department of Homeland Security as responsible for permitting suspects in two recent terrorist attacks to enter the United States .
Trump has insisted that without the wall, “we are doing nothing” to defend the border.
The president also has suggested that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could support making the DACA program permanent as part of a larger deal.
However, it’s unclear if Democrats are willing to go along with such a deal. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer has declared:
“Dreamers are not a bargaining chip for the border wall and inhumane deportation. Period.”
Both House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Schumer did not respond directly to Trump’s tweet, issuing identical statements they would not negotiate the issue in the media but would engage in serious negotiations with the president in early January.
But Trump is also receiving pressure from his right.
Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, recently spoke with Trump and urged him to end DACA altogether because it “undermines the rule of law in America.”
King also urged Trump to take up other issues, including ending birthright citizenship and making English the official language of the United States.
The congressman accused the author of the “Art of the Deal” of essentially having “negotiated against himself” by offering to provide to the Democrats DACA in exchange for border security measures Trump should have already implemented.
He urged no compromise on DACA.
“There are people who simply can’t step back and look at the implications of what they’re advocating for, here, but it’s this:
if you reward law-breakers, you get more law-breakers,” King told Breitbart radio.

My comments: Allowing the Immigration of those who have No Allegiance to America and her Constitution, is Suicidal. Further, America should only allow the Immigration of those who desire to Assimilate and can be easily Assimilated. This would leave out most Muslims.
