VIDEO: 8-Year-Old Dies Three Times After Car Crash, Sees Siblings In Heaven
Nov 02, 2017 by Alyssa Duvall - HELLO CHRISTIAN
When he was only 8 years old, Landon Whitley and his parents were in a severe car crash. Complications from the crash caused Landon to clinically die three separate times, each of which he describes as a trip to Heaven where he made an amazing discovery: he had siblings he had never met.
Landon and his parents were heading home from church when an ambulance t-boned their car in an intersection. Andy, Landon’s father, died instantly. His mom, Julie, was critically injured but was stabilized at the scene. Because of the severe damage sustained by the driver’s side of the car, first responders didn’t realize Landon was in the car until they saw his shoe, by which time he had stopped breathing.
Landon flatlined three times as emergency personnel worked to bring him into stable condition.
“They told me that if he lived. . . he would be like an 8-year-old baby. That he would not know how to walk or talk or to eat because of all the brain damage,” his mother remembered. “I was so desperate that that was okay. I would take that just to have him. He was all that I had.”
She prayed fervently for a miracle and for Landon to survive: “I kept praying that he would open his eyes.”
After several weeks, Landon finally woke from his coma. Despite massive head trauma from the accident, Landon had no brain damage whatsoever.
In contrast to the joy of seeing her son awake, Julie Whitley began to break the news of his father’s death: “So I asked Landon, ‘Do you know where your dad is at?'”
His response shocked her: “I saw him in Heaven.” He continued, “I saw your other two kids.”
Julie explained this phenomenon: “I had two miscarriages before Landon was born. And he saw them in Heaven. We had never shared that with Landon. He did not know that we had lost two children before him.”

Landon is all grown up now, and despite serious injuries from the accident, he leads a very normal life. He and his mom are taking their experience and using it to write a book to encourage readers and draw them to God, CBN reports.
“These days I can thank God for giving me the strength to get through it,” she said. “I didn’t see the strength when I was going through it – I saw the challenges and the hurt.”
And she says it’s a blessing to watch her son tell folks all about Jesus. And for Landon, Jesus is the reason for it all.”
“I just want people to realize that Jesus is real, there is a heaven, there are angels. And to follow His word and the Bible and life does get better at the end,” Landon said. “I’ve seen Jesus. I know He’s there. He’s asked me to do this and this is what I’m doing.”
