'There
is No Peace,' says the Lord, 'for the Wicked.'
(Isaiah
48:22)
All
his days the Wicked man Suffers Torment,
The
Ruthless through all the years stored up for him.
He
Despairs of escaping the Darkness;
He
is marked for the Sword.
He
wanders about—food for vultures;
He
knows the day of Darkness is at hand.
Distress
and Anguish fill him with Terror;
They
overwhelm him, like a king poised to attack,
BECAUSE
HE SHAKES HIS FIST AT GOD
AND
VAUNTS HIMSELF AGAINST THE ALMIGHTY,
DEFINITELY CHARGING AGAINST HIM
WITH
THICK , STRONG SHIELD.
(Job
15:20-26)
Listen
to the Apostle Paul describe the condition of the Wicked:
We
have already made the charge
THAT
JEWS AND GENTILES ALIKE ARE ALL UNDER SIN.
As
it is written:
'THERE
IS NO ONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
There
is no one who understands,
NO
ONE WHO SEEKS GOD.
ALL
HAVE TURNED AWAY ,
THEY
HAVE TOGETHER BECOME WORTHLESS;
THERE
IS NO ONE WHO DOES GOOD, NOT EVEN ONE.
Their
throats are open graves;
Their
tongues practice deceit.
The
poison of vipers is on their lips.
Their
mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.
Their
feet are swift to shed blood;
Ruin
and misery mark their ways,
AND
THE WAY OF PEACE THEY DO NOT KNOW.
THERE
IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES.
(Romans
3:9-18)
Such
is the state of being of the Wicked,
Which
is everyone who does not belong to Christ Jesus;
Who
has not been Born Again;
Who
is not walking in the light of Christ Jesus;
ALL
MANKIND, APART FROM CHRIST JESUS, ARE UNDER SIN.
They
have been born with a Sin Nature,
The
Propensity to Sin,
And
they are therefore Wicked, before the Lord.
This
is why mankind has only known War.
The
entire history of mankind can be told by its Wars.
The
only Peace that exists, exists in Christ Jesus Alone.
This
is why Christ Jesus says to every person who will listen:
'Come
to Me, all you who are Weary and Burdened,
And
I will give you Rest.
Take
My Yoke upon you and Learn from Me,
For
I am Gentle and Humble in heart,
And
you will find Rest for your souls.
For
My Yoke is easy and My Burden is Light.'
(Matthew 11:28-30)
He
who Dwells in the Shelter of the Most High
Will
Rest in the Shadow of the Almighty.
I
will say of the Lord,
'He
is my Refuge and my Fortress,
My
God in Whom I Trust.'
(Psalm
91:1, 2)
