THE GIFT OF GOD

Christ Jesus told the woman at the well:

'IF YOU KNEW THE GIFT OF GOD

And Who it is that asks you for a drink,

You would have asked Him

AND HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU LIVING WATER.

(John 4:10)

On the last and greatest day of the Feast,

Jesus stood and said in a loud voice,

'IF A MAN IS THIRSTY,

Let him come to me and Drink.

Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said,

STREAMS OF LIVING WATER WILL FLOW FROM WITHIN HIM.'

By this He meant the Spirit,

Whom those who believed in Him were later to receive.

(On the Day of Pentecost)

Up to that time the Spirit had not been given,

Since Jesus had not yet been Glorified.

(John 7:37-39)

For the wages of Sin is Death,

But the GIFT OF GOD is Eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Romans 6:23)

Just as Sin entered the World through one man (Adam)

And Death through Sin,

AND IN THIS WAY DEATH CAME TO ALL MEN

BECAUSE ALL SINNED--

For before the Law was given,

SIN WAS IN THE WORLD.

But Sin is not taken into account when there is No Law.

Nevertheless, Death Reigned

From the time of Adam to the time of Moses,

Even over those who did not Sin by breaking a command,

As did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.

BUT THE GIFT is not like the Trespass.

For if many Died by the Trespass of the one man,

How much more did God's Grace

AND THE GIFT THAT CAME BY GRACE OF THE ONE MAN,

Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!

AGAIN THE GIFT OF GOD

Is not like the result of the one man's Sin:

The Judgment followed one Sin and brought Condemnation,

BUT THE GIFT FOLLOWED MANY TRESPASSES

AND BROUGHT JUSTIFICATION.

For if, by the Trespass of the one man,

DEATH REIGNED THROUGH THAT ONE MAN,

How much more

WILL THOSE WHO RECEIVE GOD'S ABUNDANT PROVISION OF GRACE

AND THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

REIGN IN LIFE THROUGH THE ONE MAN, JESUS CHRIST.

Consequently, just as the result of one Trespass

WAS CONDEMNATION FOR ALL MEN,

So also the result of One Act of Righteousness

WAS JUSTIFICATION THAT BRING LIFE FOR ALL MEN.

For just as through the Disobedience of the one man

THE MANY WERE MADE SINNERS,

So also through the Obedience of the One Man

THE MANY WILL BE MADE RIGHTEOUS.

The Law was added so that the Trespass might increase.

But where Sin increased, Grace increased all the more,

SO THAT, JUST AS SIN REIGNED IN DEATH,

So also Grace might Reign through Righteousness

TO BRING ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

(Romans 5:12-21)

Every Good and Perfect Gift is from Above

Coming down from the Father of the Heavenly Lights,

Who does not change like shifting shadows.

He chose to give us Birth through the Word of Truth,

That we might be a kind of First-fruits of all He Created.

(James 1:17)

Which of you, if his son ask for bread,

Will give him a stone?

Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?

If you then, though you are Evil,

Know how to give Good Gifts to your children,

How much more will your Father in Heaven

GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!

(Matthew 7:9-11)

The GIFT OF GOD is the Spirit of God

Living In and Through those who ASK.

It is Christ In us the Hope of Glory or Heaven.

That is the only Hope that exists in this World.
