LIMBAUGH SOUNDS ALARM AS TRUMP MEETS AL GORE
Rush urges Donald not to 'go south on climate change'

President-elect Donald Trump met Monday with former Vice President Al Gore, the nation’s leading alarmist regarding man-made climate change, amid reports that Trump’s daughter Ivanka may be looking to make climate change her signature issue.
“I had a lengthy and very productive session,” Gore said after the meeting at Trump Tower in New York City. “It was a sincere search for areas of common ground.”
Gore added, “I found it an extremely interesting conversation and to be continued. And I’m just going to leave it at that.”
Trump’s meeting with Gore immediately raised the eyebrows of radio host Rush Limbaugh, who urged the president-elect not to buy into any of Gore’s beliefs.
“I’m gonna tell you something,” said Limbaugh. “If Trump goes south on climate change, that is just gonna be deeply disappointing and alarming because of what climate change is to the left. It’s everything, it’s everything they want and everything they believe, and it’s almost everything they can get to achieve it, to accomplish it.”
“It’s that bad,” Limbaugh continued. “That’s why I spend so many years on this trying to persuade people to don’t get anywhere near sidling up to this notion of man-made climate change.
“It’s one of the most bogus, hoax scams run on the people of the world. And it ought to be proven simply by the fact that it originates at the U.N. That’s all anybody ought to know or need to know.”

Politico raised the possibility that Ivanka Trump might seek to be the “climate czar” for her father, the incoming president.
It reported: “Ivanka wants to make climate change – which her father has called a hoax perpetuated by the Chinese – one of her signature issues, a source close to her told Politico. The source said Ivanka is in the early stages of exploring how to use her spotlight to speak out on the issue.”
Reince Priebus, Trump’s incoming chief of staff, said recently the president-elect’s “default position” on climate change is that “most of it is a bunch of bunk.”
Politico noted: “But no one is closer to Trump than his eldest daughter, and it would not be the first traditionally liberal position she has tried preaching to conservatives. At the Republican National Convention in July, Ivanka championed pay equity and parental leave, family issues she intends to continue pushing from what will likely be a unique platform that represents her role as an adviser, a surrogate and functional first lady.”
Brad Plumer at Vox.com noted Ivanka Trump’s reported interest in the subject may simply be a lot of hot air.
“Does Ivanka actually have an interest in climate change – or is this just vaporware? She has no history of doing (or saying) anything on the topic,” Plumer wrote.
