White House Source: Obama Eager To ‘Explode Onto The Scene’ To Take Down Trump

According to a White House source, President Obama cannot wait to begin campaigning for his party’s presidential nominee in order to take down Republican Donald Trump.
Despite remaining on the sidelines for the majority of the Democratic primaries, the source said, Obama is eager to “get people fired up” about the election and defeating the presumptive GOP nominee.
The source added that the anticipation is “driving him crazy” and Obama cannot wait to “explode onto the scene,” because he “knows his power” and ability to fire up the Democratic base.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a briefing Tuesday that the president “understands that his successor will have some important decisions to make about whether or not we are going build on this progress, are we going to build on this momentum, or are we going to tear it down?”
“And there is a pretty clear choice to be made if you take a look at the policies that are being advocated by the two parties,” Earnest continued.
Despite the president’s supposed excitement, some might say he has his work cut out for him if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, as expected.
The State Department’s inspector general recently released a report that unequivocally stated Clinton broke protocol and endangered national security with her use of a private email server. Even the White House was unwilling to defend Clinton’s actions, referring all questions back to her campaign.
Meanwhile, Clinton’s opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders, has closed a once monumental gap, putting him within striking distance.
According to a new NBC poll, Clinton and Sanders are now in a dead heat in California, with only a 2-point spread in the front-runner’s favor.
Should Sanders manage to win that state, Clinton’s lead of about 270 pledged delegates could melt away, leaving open the possibility of a superdelegate revolt at the Democratic National Convention.
Either way, the post-primary divide within the Democratic Party might be too great to mend, even for Obama.
