We
learn about having Enough Oil
In
Christ Jesus' Parable of the Ten Virgins.
Five
Virgins had Enough Oil to meet the Bridegroom [Christ Jesus]
And
Five Did Not!
Oil
is a Type of the Holy Spirit;
So
Five Virgins has Enough of the Holy Spirit
To
meet Christ Jesus at His Coming and Five Did Not
From
this Parable we learn
That
the Oil of the Spirit was (is) Necessary to meet Him.
All
Ten were Virgins
That
is, they had all made a confession of Faith in Christ Jesus.
However,
Five were Foolish and Five were Wise
And
the Difference was Oil.
They
all has some Oil but the Foolish Virgins did not have Enough.
When
they realized they did not have Enough Oil,
They
asked the Wise Virgin for some of theirs
But
the Wise Virgins said that they could not give them of theirs
As
there may not be Enough for all.
The
Wise Virgins told the Foolish Virgins
To go
those who Sell Oil and Buy some for themselves.
However,
while the Foolish Virgins were gone
The
Bridegroom came
And
the Wise Virgins went with Him to the Wedding Banquet.
Later,
the Foolish Virgins came to the Door of the Wedding Banquet
And
asked the Bridegroom to Open the Door for them.
However,
the Bridegroom told them
THAT
HE DID NOT “KNOW” THEM.
Christ
Jesus then give the Moral of the Parable:
'THEREFORE
KEEP WATCH,
Because
you do not know The Day or The Hour
When
He will Return.
(Matthew
25:1-13)
As a
Result of not having Enough Oil
The
Foolish Virgins were not able to meet the Bridegroom;
Not
able to meet Christ Jesus at His Return
And
not able to gain access to the Wedding Banquet;
Not
able to Marry Christ Jesus the Bridegroom.
THIS
RAISES THE CRUCIAL QUESTION,
How
did the Wise obtain Oil, whereas the Foolish did not?
And
the Parable does not answer the question for us.
HOW
DOES A PERSON OBTAIN THE OIL OF THE SPIRIT?
EVERYONE'S
FAITH RESTS ON THAT QUESTION.
No one
will be Married to Christ Jesus;
No one
will spend Eternity in Heaven,
Who
does not have Enough Oil of the Spirit.
To
answer this Question, let's start with the Greatest Commandment
As
told by Christ Jesus:
'Love
the Lord your God with All your Heart
And
with All you Soul and with All your Mind.'
This
is the First and Greatest Commandment.
And
the Second is like it:
'Love
your Neighbor as yourself.'
All
the Law and the Prophets HANG on these Two Commandments.
(Matthew
22:37-40)
What
is another Absolute Requirement given to us by Christ Jesus?
It
is what He told Nicodemus:
'I
tell you the Truth,
Unless
a man [woman] is Born Again,
He
cannot See the Kingdom of God.' (John 3:3)
'I
tell you the Truth,
Unless
a man [woman] is Born of water and the Spirit,
He
cannot Enter the Kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
Let's
look at another Absolute Requirement given to us by Christ Jesus:
'God
is Spirit, and His Worshipers
MUST
WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.'
(John
4:24)
Let's
look at another Powerful Admonition from Christ Jesus:
Seek
First His Kingdom and His Righteousness,
And
all these things [everything you need] will be given to you as well.
(Matthew
6:33)
Let's
look at another Command of Christ Jesus:
'Do
not leave Jerusalem,
But
wait for the Gift My Father Promised,
Which
you have heard Me speak about.
For
John baptizes with water,
But
in a few day you will be Baptized [Immersed] with the Holy Spirit.'
(Acts
1:4,5)
'You
will receive Power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
And
you will be My Witnesses in Jerusalem,
And
in all Judea and Samaria,
And
to the Ends of the Earth.'
(Acts
1:8)
Again:
'If
a man [woman] is Thirsty,
Let
him come to Me and Drink.
WHOEVER
BELIEVES IN ME, AS SCRIPTURE HAS SAID,
Streams
of Living Water will Flow from WITHIN him.'
By
this He meant the Spirit,
Whom
those who BELIEVED In Him
Were
later to Receive [on The Day of Pentecost].
Up
to that time the Spirit had not been given,
Since
Jesus had not yet been Glorified.
(John
7:37-39)
Who
has Enough Oil of the Spirit
To
Attend the Wedding Banquet of Christ Jesus?
Who
does He “Know?”
Those
who Obey His Commands;
Those
who have been Born Again;
Those
Baptized, Immersed in His Holy Spirit;
Those
who have Living Water flowing continually within them;
Those
who have received Power from on High;
THE
GIFT OF GOD;
Those
who seek First and Above All Else, the Kingdom of God
And
His Righteousness;
Those
who Worship Him In Spirit and In Truth.
