FOX NEWS ANCHOR: WE'RE 'BARBARIANS' IF WE STOP 'REFUGEES'
Viewers warned U.S. risks 'self-destruction' without wave of Syrians

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith used his show on Monday to insinuate Republican political leaders are little different than “the barbarians” of the Islamic State group known as ISIS.
Smith launched into a tirade after news broke that at least 15 state governors would refuse to accept Syrian migrants sent by the Obama administration due to security concerns.
“Our shining city on a hill is vulnerable. We’ve always known that. If we change it to accommodate the savages, have they won? And what then would be left to protect? We profess to stand as an example for all the world. Our unique experiment in freedom, tolerance, openness and equality is our gift to societies and peoples everywhere. Come, join us. Enjoy a chance at the American dream. Today, we mourn, but we cannot allow ourselves to become like those who want to destroy us,” said Smith, Mediaite reported.
“We cannot resort to the tactics of the barbarians. We must fight for what we believe in and who we are, guard our freedoms faithfully for the generations to follow. And we must not let the rhetoric of potential and political extremists among us lead us to self-destruction. When there’s panic, we show resolve. When there’s calm for extremism, we resist. We are America. We must lead.”

The Fox host's frustration was likely exacerbated later Monday night when Foreign Policy magazine reported it obtained a draft of legislation by U.S. House Republicans to cut off funding for refugees from the Middle East and North Africa.
The magazine said 15 Republican representatives backing the legislation wanted to halt all funding for resettling refugees until "processes to ensure that refugee and related programs are not able to be co-opted by would-be terrorists," WND reported.
U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said Monday that he would also introduce similar legislation for an "immediate moratorium" on the United States issuing visas to refugees from about 30 countries with a "significant jihadist movement," Politico reported.
"My bill will also stop refugees as well as others from obtaining visas to immigrate, visit or to study in the U.S.," Paul said in a conference call. "This is not something new for me. I introduced many of these same concepts in the battle over the immigration bill and so I think it's about time. And I think Paris should wake us to the fact that we can't let just anyone come to this country without background checks."
Smith's monologue on Monday warned that such rhetoric could "fundamentally alter" America's identity.
"Confronted with those who want to change our way of life, will we abandon our freedoms and the rights granted to us by the Creator?" Smith asked.
Last Friday's terror attacks by the Islamic State group in Paris, France, killed 129. Police found a fake Syrian passport near one of the suicide bombers.
Greek authorities confirmed over the weekend that a man identifying himself as asylum-seeker Ahmed Almuhamed, 25, left the island of Leros on Oct. 3.
A manhunt is also underway for 26-year-old Salah Abdeslam of Belgium. The suspected terrorist managed to elude police during last Friday's chaos.
The terror group has used the interim period since the attack to threaten America.
"I swear to God, as we struck France in its stronghold Paris, we will strike America in its stronghold, Washington," an ISIS member said in a video released Monday, CNN reported.

Islam and the Koran are the Antithesis of Christianity and the Foundations of America. Islam is an Evil Religion based on the Koran that Incites Violence against Everyone, including its own.
