MUSLIM CLERIC: ISIS INFILTRATING EUROPE THROUGH MIGRANTS
Anjem Choudary sees advance of Islam through crisis

In an interview Tuesday with WND, British Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary stated ISIS “undoubtedly” is taking advantage of the migrant crisis rocking Europe, using the displaced Syrians as cover to bring jihadists to the West.
“Undoubtedly this will be seen as one of the avenues that the Islamic State employ in order to get their own people in position to where they may be able to confront who they see to be the enemies who are leading the campaign against them,” Choudary stated.
“So I think this is a very real possibility,” he continued. “It’s probably already happening. The extent of it is very difficult to know until it has some kind of manifestation.”
Choudary is a founder of the outlawed Al Muhajiroun pro-al-Qaida organization in Britain. He spoke to WND just seven days after being released on bond from prison and is awaiting trial in the U.K. for allegedly encouraging support for ISIS.
Choudary was asked whether he thinks the influx of Syrians will help to spread Islam throughout Europe.
“Demographically, we are the fastest growing community, and this is only going to add, I think, to the impact of Islam and Muslims in Europe and in the West,” he replied. “Even without the crisis, Islam is the fastest growing ideology in Europe and in America. Many people are embracing Islam.”
Choudary pointed out that according to media images, “many of the people who are migrating look as though they are practicing Muslims.”
“Undoubtedly there are many there who are practicing Muslims who are looking for themselves to settle,” he said. “And of course we carry our ideology with us.”
According to the United Nations Human Rights Council, 83 percent of the migrants who were questioned upon entering Europe were Arab Sunni men, a full 71 percent of whom are between the ages of 18 and 35.
On Tuesday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for a special EU summit to coordinate Europe’s response to the hundreds of thousands seeking asylum amid fierce opposition from ex-communist states.
Germany’s interior minister, Thomas de Maiziere, predicted 800,000 would arrive in his country this year alone, with other politicians there saying they expect the number to rise to at least 1 million.
Some 22,000 arrived in Austria on Monday and Tuesday with hopes of being transported across the German border to Munich. Despite new border measures, German law enforcement agencies say 3,800 reached Munich on Monday, bringing to at least 92,000 the total number arriving into Germany this month.
“I think it will get worse before it slows down,” Choudary told WND. “And the primary reason for that is the expansion of the Islamic State and the plans which countries like Britain and America and others have to confront that.
“Obviously, the more of a military confrontation you have, the more there will be a refugee crisis and the larger the impact into places like Europe and places where they can seek some kind of refuge.”
Last week, an ISIS operative speaking anonymously to BuzzFeed claimed the terrorist group had smuggled more than 4,000 covert ISIS members into Western nations under the cover of asylum seekers.
Earlier this week, a Lebanese government minister claimed 1 in 50 Syrians heading to Europe could be members of ISIS. Elias Bou Saab, Lebanon’s education minister, said his numbers were not based on collected data but on his “gut feeling” about what was happening.
“Yes, they bring some people, the smugglers. They organize groups and send them out,” he said when asked if ISIS was using the crisis to transport jihadists to Europe.
Saab was speaking to reporters while traveling with British Prime Minister David Cameron on a visit to Lebanon and Jordan.
Also in an interview this week, Pope Francis warned ISIS could take advantage of the crisis and slip into European cities.
Last week, Bulgarian broadcaster NOVA TV reported five suspects were arrested attempting to cross the Bulgarian-Macedonian border toting ISIS propaganda, including decapitation videos.
