SEX SLAVE FORCED TO MARRY 20 ISIS FIGHTERS

The UK’s Daily Mail reported Friday on the horrific account of a sex slave for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), also known as ISIL, who was forced to “marry” 20 ISIS fighters and forced to undergo a “painful surgery” each time to restore her virginity, according to a United Nations official.

Zainab Bangura, special envoy on sexual violence in conflict, has interviewed dozens of sexual abuse victims – women and girls – throughout her travels to Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. She said ISIS would strip the victims naked and categorize them before trading them in “slave bazaars” and shipping them to other provinces.

“ISIL have institutionalized sexual violence and the brutalization of women as a central aspect of their ideology and operations, using it as a tactic of terrorism to advance their key strategic objectives,” Bangura was quoted as saying.

“In February it was reported militants fighting in Syria were seeking medical attention to improve their sexual prowess and subjecting their wives to 'brutal, abnormal' sex acts, according to local doctors,” the article stated.

Yazidi women and in some cases, girls as young as five years old were kidnapped from their homes, raped and abused by ISIS, according to survivors, the Daily Mail reported. Some were returned home after getting pregnant by their rapists and faced ostracism by their community, which frowns on pre-marital sex.
