Mostly women, children among the dead

ISIS terrorists have killed another 400-plus Syrians, most of whom are believed to be women and children
The brutal acts were carried out in Palmyra, the ancient Syrian city ISIS has just claimed.
State TV reported the streets were filled with the bodies of the dead.
“The terrorists have killed more than 400 people … and mutilated their bodies, under the pretext that they cooperated with the government and did not follow orders,” State TV said.
Just a few days ago, terrorists killed 300 troops in Palmyra and raised the black Islamic State flag over the city.
Most of the city’s artifacts, which hail back to biblical days, have been taken to Damascus for safekeeping. But historical experts say the city’s remaining treasures are in jeopardy.
“There are still the large items, like the sarcophagi, which weigh three or four tons and we could not move. Those are what worry me,” said antiquities director Hamoun Abdulkarim, in the Mirror. “I hope that they do not repeat the same destruction they committed in Iraq.”
ISIS terrorists in Iraq bulldozed and destroyed many ancient artifacts, including in the city of Nimrud, the Mirror said.
