ALERT: FCC Commissioner Reveals What Happened to Him After He Publicly Defied Obama
In what can only be described as one of the biggest power grabs in the history of the federal government and an all-out assault on the First Amendment, President Barack Obama’s Federal Communications Commissiondrafted new “net neutrality” rules to take control of the Internet.
FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai was and still is outspoken in his opposition to the new rules, which purport to treat the Internet like other “utilities” with numerous rules, regulations, fees and fines.
But while his opposition to Obama’s Internet takeover has earned him praise and adulation from conservatives and libertarians, it has also earned him harassment and threats from Obama’s supporters.
“I can tell you it has not been an easy couple of months personally. My address has been publicly released. My wife’s name, my kids’ names, my kids’ birthdays, my phone number, all kinds of threats (have come) online,” said Pai (H/T WND).
It is noted that the FCC has twice already been smacked down by the courts for similar power grabs, although those moves weren’t nearly as broad-reaching as this latest one. Industry experts expect this to be stopped short like the others.
However, many are steeling themselves for the possibility that the new regulations are upheld, in which case everything will change. The Internet we know and love will be gone forever, replaced by a hollow shell of its former self, where all content is reviewed and approved by nameless, faceless, unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.
Hopefully, that doesn’t happen. We cannot allow that to happen.
