Chuck Norris Just Publicly Took on Islam in Defense of America [READ]
It takes a brave man to take on the forces of political correctness in the United States of America today.
However, as you may know, Chuck Norris is just that kind of man.
Yes, Norris — the man who according to the Internet has counted to infinity twice and is the reason why Waldo is hiding — has long been a political pundit for the conservative cause.
His latest target is school districts carving Christian holidays out of the academic calendar for fear of offending Muslims.
Norris was enraged by the Montgomery County, Md., Board of Education decision to rename Christian holidays as generic, inoffensive seasonal breaks.
Phil Kauffman, the board president, explained, “The best way to accommodate the diversity of our community is to not make choices about which communities we’re going to respect in our calendar and which ones we’re not going to respect.”
That sort of logic doesn’t fly with Chuck Norris.
“Folks, our country is heading down a slippery slope,” Norris wrote in an op-ed for Townhall.
“We have to stop it before it is too late.”
Norris went on to detail and lambast the Board of Education for its decision.
“That’s not the America our Founding Fathers created for us,” Norris said. “That’s not unity in diversity. That’s not education but pipeline progressivism pumping out another indoctrination camp.”
“And where’s our president when these Christian and Jewish references are being erased from civic calendars?” Norris continued.
“Is he crying out in defense of religious liberty and our First Amendment? Nope. He’s as silent as a church mouse, just as he’s been for the past six years on any such matter.” [H/T Conservative Post.]
Norris is right, of course.
The fact is that political correctness and “inclusiveness” are destroying tolerance, not encouraging it.
By trying to not offend Muslims, the Montgomery County Board of Education has offended even more people.
As Norris points out, Muslims make up only 10 percent of the population in Montgomery County, but they’re an extraordinarily squeaky wheel that got some grease.
Perhaps it’s time for Christians to stand up and become just as squeaky.
