Students
for Life of America
Dear Tom,
In the midst of all that our team is fighting for on campuses right now - the right to establish pro-life clubs, hold events and stop taxpayer money from unfairly promoting abortion - it can be hard to keep our eye on the ball.
And sometimes we have to stop, in the midst of all of the chatter, and remind ourselves what victory looks like...a precious baby boy.
A few years ago, I had the privilege of helping Meghan start a pro-life group at her school. I met with her at a training in California and sent her all the materials she needed to get started.
Her first day on campus, Meghan met a group of young girls and told them about her pro-life group and asked them to join. A couple of weeks after meeting the girls, one of them, Jessica, emailed Meghan a burden-filled email.
Jessica was post-abortive and offered to help Meghan with her pro-life group. She wrote that she wished there had been a Students for Life group on her campus only semester before when she had her abortion.
Despite being from what seemed different worlds, Meghan reached out and befriended Jessica.
Then, it happened, as it does for far-too many young women, Jessica was pregnant...again. She had fallen back into her old life.
Even though Jessica knew abortion was wrong and how much it would hurt her, she was scared and said it seemed like the only way out, the only way to make sure she could still graduate college, the only way her family and friends envisioned was possible.
But Meghan was there.
The only voice, in all the chatter, affirming Jessica and the precious life she was carrying within her. The only voice who was willing to go with her to her campus administration and figure out how Meghan could stay in school and turn her life around. The only voice who patiently listened.
I’ll never forget the moment that I got the text message from Meghan that read,
“He’s here! Baby Stephaun is here. I can’t believe it! He almost didn’t make it.”
And I’ll never forgot the day that I saw Stephaun, now a chubby toddler, run up to me.
Tom, even though you weren’t physically there, it was your moment. Because you made it possible.
Your support of Students for Life of America made it possible because through you I was able to train and equip Meghan to start her Students for Life group. Through you, I was able to answer the calls and e-mails from her after she met Jessica and was trying to figure out how to witness to her.
Through you, I was able to work with both Meghan and Jessica to form Students for Life’s Pregnant on Campus Initiative, now on colleges campuses in 33 states, and help figure out how Jessica could choose life and continue her education.
Today, please take 5 minutes to watch this short video so you can share in your moment and meet Meghan, Jessica, and precious Stephaun.
Then, I hope you will consider investing in Students for Life’s ground-breaking Pregnant on Campus Initiative, which is creating real change on campuses across the nation and saving moms and babies from the tragedy of abortion.
Our initiative is simple...we train Students for Life groups in how to promote already existing support services in their community like pro-life Pregnancy Resource Centers and Maternity Homes, and then create additional resources like scholarships on their campus.
Our goal is make sure when other Jessica’s are in that moment of panic, knowing they don’t want to have an abortion but desperate because they don’t think there is another way out, they will see a sign of hope left by the Students for Life group. That she will know that there are people on campus who love her and will support her every step of the way.
This morning, can you join us by making a sacrificial gift of $25, $75, or even $125 to our Students for Life Pregnant on Campus Initiative?
In just a couple of weeks, our team will be releasing a nationwide resource (I will send you details soon!) for pregnant students, showing them there is always another way. And right now, I’m only $5,324 behind on my fundraising goal for this ground-breaking resource.
Can you join with us? Can you help her see the victory of Life?
God Bless,
Kristan Hawkins

P.S. - Already this year, we have seen more than 27 babies saved by Students for Life groups, and we know there are dozens more out there. Help our team and our students be that voice by chipping in $125, $75, or even $25, so that she may choose life for her child.
