Dear Friend,
The nation of Ukraine is struggling to survive.
The army is handicapped because of a shortage of ammunition and equipment.
The civilian population is desperately trying to find food, medicine, and other essentials of life.
The war has put millions of lives in danger, and it is getting worse by the day. We must do all we can to help these precious people.
To continue delivering food, medicine, clothing, and other emergency supplies to Ukraine, we must raise $85,000 immediately.
So far 454 friends have given $34,562 toward this vital project, so we still need to raise $50,437.

More than ten years ago, I went through Ukraine on my way to visit the place where my great grandfather, Rabbi Mikel Katz-Nelson for whom I am named, was burned to death inside his synagogue with 2,000 other Jewish men, women, and children.

More than ten years ago, I went through Ukraine on my way to visit the place where my great grandfather, Rabbi Mikel Katz-Nelson for whom I am named, was burned to death inside his synagogue with 2,000 other Jewish men, women, and children.
As the flames roared and the screams inside began to fade, those outside celebrated the fate of the “Christ killers!”
On that trip, I saw an elderly homeless dirty Holocaust survivor digging through a dumpster for food.
Her hands were black from the garbage, and she had the concentration camp number tattooed on her arm.
I vowed then that we would do everything possible to help her and so many others—the Holocaust survivors of Ukraine are the poorest on earth, and thanks to the help of friends like you, we have done that for more than a decade. Since the war started, we have done even more to help, but the needs continue to grow. The sacred call of Isaiah 58:7 to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, and not to divert our eyes from the suffering remains before us as we join hands to care for those in dire need in Ukraine.

Your support of the Jerusalem Prayer Team today allows us to purchase food, medicine, clothing, and other necessities of life for the poor Holocaust survivors, as well as to continue to operate the Friends of Zion Museum, to stand up and speak out for Israel, and to meet urgent humanitarian needs among the poor Jewish people in Israel and Ukraine.
Thank you so much for being part of this vital worldwide prayer movement.
