Two forces are at the root of most of Liberty Counsel’s legal work this year — Planned Parenthood and a rabid LGBTQ army. Both are intent on silencing Christians, all the while maiming and murdering our youth. Here’s a look at a few of our current cases:
Gender-bending schools ...
Gary* is a gym teacher serving the Lord by instructing high school youth in physical education. Gary’s job requires that he be present with the young boys when they change in the locker room for gym class.
But “woke” administrators at his high school decided that a confused young woman be allowed to use the boys’ locker room. The school did not want to tell the boys or their parents and wanted Gary to lie to them about the girl. Defend sanity!
As a Christian, a father, and just a decent person, Gary objected to being forced to watch a girl undress in his locker room. But the woke school district insisted Gary violate the tenets of his faith, as well as common sense, or lose his job.
Gary is just one of the teachers and parents Liberty Counsel is representing across the country who are being forced to comply with the radical LGBTQ agenda that violates their faith, biological science, and good sense.
Christian Counseling Bans ... In addition to attacking teachers and parents in our public school systems, the LGBTQ mafia is working overtime to BAN CHRISTIAN COUNSELING.
Christian counseling has been proven highly effective in helping patients resolve gender dysphoria and unwanted same-sex attractions. Perhaps that’s why LGBTQ advocates worked so hard to get this life saving counseling banned in over 100 cities and states nationwide.
Liberty Counsel has overturned 23 of these bans in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. However, 87 other bans are still in place across the country. Not only are these bans a classic example of antireligious bigotry, they also endanger the lives of millions of people seeking to escape the LGBTQ agenda. We will not stop fighting until every unlawful ban on Christian counseling is overturned.
Protecting the Right to Life ...
In Arizona: Pro-death groups in Arizona and Florida are attempting to overturn the states’ bans on abortion. Arizona had banned abortion since before the Civil War. Planned Parenthood is fighting to overturn that ban. Liberty Counsel filed briefs before the Arizona Supreme Court.
In Florida: When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe, little changed in Florida. That’s because an activist Florida Supreme Court’s 1989 decision, In re. T.W., made Florida an abortion destination state.
We filed two critical briefs at the Florida Supreme Court. If the 15-week ban is upheld, the six-week ban goes into effect, and the terrible 1989 decision will be overruled. Florida will no longer be an abortion destination.
We also filed a challenge to a 2024 ballot initiative of Planned Parenthood and the ACLU to enshrine abortion into the Florida Constitution. Liberty Counsel has presented oral arguments before the Florida Supreme Court, and we await the court’s decision in this life-or-death matter.
Nationwide — Mail Order Abortions:
During the COVID lockdowns, the Biden administration wanted to ensure the abortion business kept running at full speed. For 20 years, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) required women to be seen in person by a licensed medical doctor before being prescribed the abortion pill, due to the pill’s life-threatening side effects.
But Biden’s FDA removed those lifesaving safety measures, allowing abortion pills to be distributed through the mail without a doctor visit.
In just the first 18 months after mail order abortions began, mifepristone injured or killed 3,197 women who took the abortion drug. In addition, more than 2/3 of the adverse events not resulting in death of the mother instead required emergency surgery to save the mother’s life and future fertility.
The patent for the abortion drug mifepristone, also known as RU486, is owned by the Population Council, a nonprofit that has openly advocated population reduction since its formation by John D. Rockefeller III and Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger in 1952. Defend Life!
