Drawing Us To Him
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. - John 6:44
I can totally relate to Zaccheus as far as being short and wanting to see over a crowd in front if you.
As you can see the view is not that great when you're sitting behind someone.
This was Rick's view at the last Mariner's game we went to!
So I get it when Zacchaeus climbed up into a tree to see Jesus better.
But for him, it was more than just curiosity to see this guy that everyone has been talking about.
It says in John that no one comes to Jesus unless the Father draws him. Zacchaeus was hungry for a change, he was yearning to see Jesus because the Father was drawing Him.
Kurt quoted Luke 19:10 in his message last Sunday,
"For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”.
Isn't it awesome that it's not up to us to force people to believe?
That's never going to work.
The Father is drawing people to Him, Jesus is seeking to save those who are lost.
If you're praying for someone who is lost pray that God is drawing them to Him and pray that they see Him.
And then be patient and continue to pray.
The Good Shepherd seeks out the lost.
He is the loving shepherd who goes to great lengths to search for his lost sheep and when he finds it, carries it back on his shoulders rejoicing.
See you Sunday.
Blessings,
