The Wind Was Knocked Out Of Me
Ken Ebright
“The LORD hears good people when they cry out to him, and he saves them from all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17 NCV)
“Give your worries to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down.” (Psalm 55:22 NCV)
There were times in my life when something traumatic happened, and I felt like the ‘air was let out of my tires’.
In those times, I felt like I couldn’t pray because I was so upset —
I could not even form the words to say anything.
When my mom committed suicide, I would just walk around our neighborhood.
There have been other times in my life when I couldn’t sleep.
I would play a CD that sounded like the ocean to quiet my mind.
Playing an ocean CD or walking around the neighborhood is not the answer.
As a lifelong believer, the answer is to call on the Lord.
Although, it is may still be hard to convey the words you’re thinking about that are in your head.
Once, I called into a radio program where they take theological questions.
The host suggested that I should go to the Psalms.
I did an internet search and found the Psalms listed above.
The Lord is the only one who can provide the answers.
If you know Jesus as your personal Savior, he will never let you down. We are going to go through some deep dark valleys in life in this world.
The Lord didn’t promise that everything is going to be easy.
The suggestion from both of these verses is to cry out to Him and give Him your worries.
You must trust that he is going to hear you.
When you feel the wind is knocked out of you, pray the Psalms and remember that he will take care of you.
