“Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Philippians 2:15 NLT
Bright lights are the sign of the season, shining fervently everywhere.
Sparkling Christmas lights are beacons symbolizing the True Light of the world.
And that is what the Lord intends for us to be, also.
Jesus calls us to be lights in the world, but we must first belong to Him and follow Him.
“He who follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life.” (John 8:12 NAB) Here’s the promise to walk out of worldly darkness into His divine Light.
It begins with belief. “Believe in the Light so that you may become children of Light.” (John 12:35)
Have you considered Jesus, the True Light, and surrendered to Him? As we walk the path to the manger in this holy season, He is waiting to meet you.
Find a quiet space, and tell Him you are there searching for the Light.
He will not leave you in darkness, but will shine His heavenly Light right into your heart.
“For you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:7)
We are next commanded in Ephesians 5:8 to “Walk as children of light.”
We have to let our light shine; it’s our daily duty.
But our light is not self-generated; it’s reflected.
It is His goodness that illuminates us, for Jesus has chosen to shine in the world through us.
Therefore, share your faith. Tell others about the True Light of Jesus. Take your little light where it’s dark—out of the Church. During this season, your good works will shine for all to see.
“Your light must shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify Your Heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16). Are you adorning the season as a bright light for the Lord?
