“This is something wrong that happens here on earth: What happens to one happens to all. So people’s minds are full of evil and foolish thoughts while they live. After that, they join the dead.” (Ecclesiastics 9:3 NCV)
My sister was married for thirty-one years, and then her husband decided to leave her.
The problem that happened is that sin got in the way of their relationship.
It is not just marital relationships, but it’s also work relationships.
Every job that I have taken has always had problems.
There was ‘Reese’ who disliked me because I broke a piece of equipment and he did not like the way I did things.
There was ‘Mabel’ who hated me.
There was ‘Ben’ who was my assistant, who thought he was too good to do certain tasks I was required to do.
He would call in sick to get out of doing things he didn’t want to do.
These people, including myself, are subject to evil and foolish thoughts.
I want to make it clear that I was not an angel.
We as humans are always plagued by sin.
There is that phrase “after that they join the dead.”
When I think about that phrase, it makes me think that Solomon, the writer of Ecclesiastics knew that people who are not saved from their sins will go the lake of fire someday.
There is good news, and that is that we don’t have to join ‘the dead.’
If you come to know Jesus, you can join the living, and have eternal life. When we go to heaven, there is no sin!
There will not be any broken relationships, or evil or foolish thoughts. Turn to Jesus today.
