Tapping Into the Water of Life
Sheriena McEvers
Do you remember the last time you did or said something that a believer shouldn't have?
Do you remember the last time you did or said something that a believer shouldn't have?
Our flesh, our natural self, can catch us off guard and trip us up.
We can fall flat on our face, stunned, surprised, and embarrassed.
How is it possible?
How is it possible?
We are Christians.
We have been connected to Jesus like a water hose to the tap.
We are born again, new creations.
So, how can we still think such thoughts, say such things, or desire such things?
How can we react like that?
It happens when we rely upon our limited resources, looking to our flesh's natural ability to live the Christian life instead of worshipping God in spirit and truth.

Nothing good dwells in our flesh.
It is natural and lives in constant conflict with our born-again spirit.
For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. Rom 7:18
Victory comes when we surrender our wills, emotions, abilities, reactions, and feelings daily to the Holy Spirit.

Victory comes when we surrender our wills, emotions, abilities, reactions, and feelings daily to the Holy Spirit.
It can be nothing of our abilities.
We need the water of His Life.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Gal 5:16
Let's permit the Holy Spirit to live for us in all areas of our life.

Let's permit the Holy Spirit to live for us in all areas of our life.
Let's open the water faucet of His life and let it flow with the peace, love, and joy we need to share with those in our lives.
Would life look different? Yes! Yes! Yes!
For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:10
Father in Heaven, help us to see the worthlessness of our natural abilities. You want to transform us from the inside out by the power of the Holy Spirit. Only the life of Christ can give us the ability to live a life that is pleasing to You.
