I Hate Getting Out of Bed
Ken Ebright
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain because all the old ways are gone. Revelation 21:4" (NCV)
It's 3:30 am again, and time for me to get up, but I don't want to.
There are times when I hate getting out of bed.
It's not so much my job that I dislike, but the thoughts of what could go wrong today.
I have had many days that started good, and then things went sour.
When I was fourteen, I got up like any other Saturday. Later that day, my mom left home and committed suicide.
I also hated getting out of bed and going to school.
I also hated getting out of bed and going to school.
I had learning difficulties and failed many tests.
The kids knew I was getting bad grades, and they made fun of me.
I recall the day when I found out I would have to repeat fifth grade.
There was also the day I would find out that my dad left town after his divorce.
With each of these days, I had no idea what would happen.
After reading my list, can you see why sometimes I would prefer to stay in bed?
Can you relate?
The fact is, bad days happen because we live in a fallen world filled with sin.
The fact is, bad days happen because we live in a fallen world filled with sin.
Jesus told us the truth, trouble was coming and in Him we can overcome it.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 NIV
I have to remember that Jesus promises us there will be a day when there will be no more death, failing grades, tears, or sin.

When I remember His promises, I look forward to my day.
