White House Press Corps Votes to Oust OANN From Briefing Room
One America News Network, the nation’s conservative television channel, was evicted from its seat in the White House press briefing room by the left-wing White House Correspondents Association.
2,206 people are talking about this
“As you are all aware, the WHCA issued a policy last month to restrict seating in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room to comply with CDC guidelines on social distancing,” read a ‘Dear Colleagues’ letter.
“Under this policy, we have asked reporters who don’t have a seat not to attend press briefings. We appreciate all your cooperation as we do our part to ensure the safety of the White House press corps and White House staff during this difficult time,” the statement read.
“We are writing to inform you that the WHCA Board has voted this evening to remove a news outlet from the rotation for a seat in the briefing room. We did this because a reporter for this outlet twice attended press briefings in contravention of this policy,” the letter continued.
“We do not take this action lightly. This is a matter of public safety,” the said.
Are they sure it’s not a matter of political preference?
The WHCA has a long and well-documented history of attacking President Trump and the White House staff. They were particularly nasty to former Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
Let’s hope President Trump overrules the White House Correspondents Association and gives OANN a permanent seat in the briefing room. And if he needs to make room, how about booting Jim Acosta?
