Under Construction
Jennifer Woodley
‘This entire building is under construction and is continually growing under his supervision until it rises up completed as the holy temple of the Lord himself.’ Ephesians 3:21-22 (The Passion)
Life has seasons where our little world feels messy.
There's crashing noise bombarding us from every direction.
Conflicting voices all demanding to be heard.
Nothing seems settled.
The regular rhythm of our lives is out of sync so that we now feel scattered, shattered and disorientated.
Where has the comforting regularity of our days gone?
Distractions abound spinning us off course.
We are like a building site, constantly 'under construction'.
When will the chaotic turbulence ever settle so that we can get back to normal?
There is a change happening here.
There is a change happening here.
Just as storms roll in to announce in the arrival of spring, so too does messiness precede the emergence of a new season in our lives.
Right now, we are under construction, but we are also under His supervision until we emerge into a new season as a new person.
Transformation of both our inner and outer worlds is happening and it often hurts.
It seems like hard work.
We may feel lost, at limbo and alone.
God's invitation in this messiness is to wait, watch and witness the work He is doing.
Learn from it. Grow into it.
All will be well.
All will be well.
Let things unfold.
Don't force what doesn't fit.
God is faithful in His love for us.
We are not forgotten.
Learn to sit quietly, patiently, expectantly in His hand.
Some things are only revealed through attentive waiting.
Where are we resisting the formation work God is doing in our lives?
What is God’s invitation to us here?
