Bill To Abolish Dept Of Education Coincides With Secretary Devos Confirmation
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced a piece of legislation that is so simple even Nancy Pelosi can understand it.
It is a bill designed to abolish the Department of Education. As fate would have it he introduced it at the same time Vice President Pence was casting the deciding vote in the confirmation of Betsy Devos as Secretary of Education. That effort to get her approved may be short-lived, just a little under two years.
The bill is H.R.899, and was written with Nancy Pelosi and those members of Congress with similar impairments in mind, consisting of only one sentence. She’ll easily be able to read at least half of it before her mind wanders off. That one sentence reads,
“The Department of Education Shall Terminate on December 31, 2018.”
In a press release announcing the bill, Massie makes an excellent point, stating “Neither Congress nor the President, through his appointees, has the constitutional authority to dictate how and what our children must learn.”
He added, Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. should not be in charge of our children’s intellectual and moral development. States and local communities are best positioned to shape curricula that meet the needs of their students. Schools should be accountable. Parents have the right to choose the most appropriate educational opportunity for their children, including home school, public school, or private school.”
An original cosponsor of the legislation, Rep Walter Jones (R-NC) said, “For years, I have advocated returning education policy to where it belongs — the state and local level. DC bureaucrats cannot begin to understand the needs of schools and its students on an individual basis. It is time that we get the feds out of the classroom, and terminate the Department of Education.”
Other cosponsors of the legislation included, including Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), and Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID).
Secretary of Education Devos is unpopular with the Democrats but even their political revenge is not enough of a motivator for the Democrats to actually vote to act in the interest of the nation and it’s children, and against one of their enabling groups, the public school teacher lobby.
They’re the reason why they fought her confirmation as hard as they did. Now the teachers may have to face the competition all of us do in the private sector.
That’s going to be a painful lesson for many of them, a test many of them won’t be able to pass.

My comments: It is Critical, for the Survival of America, that Public Education be taken out of the hands of the godless, Socialist, Secular Humanists. The Federal Department of Education should be Terminated.
