Senate Finally Has Enough of 9th Circuit That Blocked Trump, Puts Forth Bill to Dismantle the Liberal Court
Yesterday, Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration was rejected by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Anyone familiar with how liberal that court is and how often their decisions get reversed understands that the move wasn’t a big surprise.
It looks like Republicans in D.C. are trying to do something about the judicial activism that we often see from the 9th Circuit.
This could get interesting…
From Fox News:
Republican Sens. Jeff Flake and John McCain of Arizona introduced legislation last month to carve six states out of the San Francisco-based court circuit and create a brand new 12th Circuit. They argue that the 9th is too big, too liberal and too slow resolving cases. If they succeed, only California, Oregon, Hawaii and two island districts would remain in the 9th’s judicial fiefdom.
The argument is that the 9th Circuit is too big and takes too long to rule on most cases.
Not a bad idea but seems like it will be an uphill battle to get this done.
John McCain and Donald Trump haven’t exactly been best buds lately.
Maybe they can find some common ground here and work together?
Stay tuned…
