David
was greatly distressed;
For
the men spoke of stoning him,
Because
the soul of them all was bitterly grieved,
Each
man for his sons and daughters;
BUT
DAVID ENCOURAGED AND STRENGTHENED HIMSELF IN THE LORD.
(1
Samuel 30:6, AMP)
When
we are in distress, the very best thing that we can do,
And
sometimes the only thing we can do,
Is to
Encourage ourselves in the Lord.
Reciting
encouraging Scriptures to our selves;
Preaching
to ourselves;
Remembering
that our God is in Complete Control
And
that we belong to Him, the Almighty One.
This
is what David did in his time of distress.
I
love You fervently and devotedly,
O
Lord my Strength.
The
Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer;
My
God, my Keen and Firm Strength
In
Whom I will Trust and take Refuge,
My
Shield, and the Horn of my Salvation, my High Tower.
I
will call upon the Lord, Who is to be Praised;
So
shall I be Saved from my Enemies. [Rev. 5:12.]
(Psalm
18:1-3, AMP)
Wait
and Hope for and Expect the Lord;
Be
Brave and of Good Courage,
And
let your heart be Stout and Enduring.
Yes,
wait and Hope for and Expect the Lord.
(Psalm
27:14, AMP)
Be
Strong and let your heart take Courage,
All
you who wait and Hope for and Expect the Lord!
(Psalm
31:24, AMP)
For
You are my Hope; O Lord God,
You
are my Trust from my youth and the Source of my Confidence.
(Psalm
71:5, AMP)
I
Cried out of my Distress to the Lord and He heard me;
Out
of the belly of Sheol cried I, and Your heard my voice.
[Ps.
120:1, 130:1; 142:1; Lam. 3:55-58.]
(Jonah
2:2, AMP)
The
Lord always hears; always looks out for our best interest;
Always
looks out for our Eternal Interest.
When
our Faith, Hope and Trust are in Him
We
are Eternally Secure.
