The
apostle Paul defines for us what it means to be a Christian:
I
have been Crucified with Christ and I no longer live
But it
is Christ Who lives in me
And
this life that I now live I live by Faith in the Son of God
And
His Power at work in me (Galatians 2:20; Colossians 1:29))
I Set
my heart on things Above (Colossians 3:1-4)
My
life is Hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3)
I
cloth myself with the Garments of Christ (Romans 13:14)
And
let His Word dwell richly in me (Colossians 3:16)
This
is a Prescription for being a Christian by the apostle Paul.
As
Christians we must be Crucified with Christ
To
this Wicked World ruled by Satan. (1 John 5:19)
We can
no longer live, but it must be Christ Who lives In and Through us.
There
is but One Hope in all that exists:
Christ
in us the Hope of Glory. (Colossians 1:27)
The
life that we now live must be lived by Faith in the Son of God
And
His Power at work in us.
On our
own we cannot Overcome the Wicked One,
Only
Christ living In and Through us can do that.
We
must Set our hearts on things Above, Heaven,
Praying
that the Kingdom of God would come
And
His Will be done on Earth as in Heaven,
Which
is calling for the Return of Christ Jesus.
If we
belong to Christ Jesus our lives are Hidden with Christ in God;
He
lives In us and we live In Him.
We
must put on the Garments of Christ:
His
Righteousness, His Holiness, His Grace, His Mercy, His Love.
We
must let the Word of God dwell richly in us,
Understanding
that Christ Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the LIFE,
Is the
Word of God [John 1:1, 14];
The
Word that God places above His Name. (Psalm 138:2)
King
David, the man after God's own heart,
Also
defines what it means to be a Christian:
One
thing I ask of the Lord,
This
is what I Seek;
That
I may Dwell in the House of the Lord
All
the days of my life,
To
Gaze Upon the Beauty of the Lord
And
to Seek Him in His Temple.
(Psalm
27:4)
Whom
have I in Heaven but You?
And
Being with You,
I
Desire Nothing on Earth.
(Psalm
73:25)
I
said to the Lord,
'You
are my Lord;
Apart
from You I have No Good Thing.'
(Psalm
16:2)
