Christ Jesus came bringing “good news”. What is that “good news”?
He began his preaching ministry with:
'Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.' (Matthew 4:17)
The first aspect of the “good news” is that every person can repent of their sin And turn to Christ for the forgiveness of their sin. The ultimate objective of repentance is that one enter the Kingdom of God. Eternal LIFE is in the Kingdom of God. The “good news” is that the Kingdom of God is available to every living person.
What Is The Kingdom Of God?
The Kingdom of God is where Christ Jesus rules and reigns;
It is the realm of His Spirit; The Secret Place of the Most High God.
It is a Supernatural Place accessed by the Spirit of God
And those whom the Spirit of God lives in.
Christ Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is within a person
(Luke 17:21).
How Does A Person Enter The Kingdom Of God?
It is first by faith that Jesus is the Christ of God.
It is then by following the pattern of the Scriptures.
What did John the Baptist say that Christ Jesus would do? He said:
'I baptize you with water for repentance.
But after me will come One who is more powerful than I,
Whose sandals I am not fit to carry.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
His winnowing fork is in His hand, and he will clear his threshing floor,
Gathering the wheat into his barn
And burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.'
(Matthew 3:11-12)
Christ Jesus came to baptize (immerse) those who believe in the Holy Spirit and with fire. This is what He did on The day of Pentecost, He baptized (immersed) those who waited as He had instructed in the Holy Spirit and with fire. The evidence of this baptism was that they began to speak in languages that they did not know under the influence of the Holy Spirit. They also saw “tongues” of fire that came to rest on each of them.
God intends that every one of those who believe in His Christ, Jesus, have the same experience as those on The Day of Pentecost. Christ Jesus is the Baptizer, and He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Kingdom of God is accessed by those who have had their personal day of Pentecost; this is the Scriptural pattern.
Christ Jesus told His followers to wait until they had receive the promise of the Father. They waited, and on The Day of Pentecost they received the Spirit of God; They were baptized (immersed) in the Spirit of God; He came to live inside of them; The Spirit living in you is the Kingdom of God as Jesus said. (Luke 17:21)
The apostle John said that he was “in the Spirit” on the Lords day (Rev. 1:10). This indicates that of his own volition he entered the Spirit of God; The Spirit lived in him, but it required a volitional act of his own to enter the realm of the Spirit.
Likewise when Elisha needed a word from the Lord, he called the harpist to play for him so that he could get “in the Spirit” To hear from the Lord. (2 Kings 3:15)
When a person is "in the Spirit" they have entered the Kingdom of God; The place where God rules and reigns; The place where He can speak to us unhindered by the “noise” of the world.
This is why music, praise and worship are so important.
They are vehicles to enter the Kingdom of God.
God “lives in” the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).
As we praise and worship God He comes by His Presence
And manifests Himself among us individually and corporately.
The most wonderful thing in this life is to be in the Presence of God;
It is life changing every time.
God seeks those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
(John 4:16)
This is why King David could say:
One day in your courts is worth a thousand other days. (Psalm 84:10)
One thing is ask, this is what I seek
That I may dwell in the House of the Lord all the days of my life.
To gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and seek him in his temple.
(Psalm 27:4)
Who do I have in heaven but you
And having you I desire nothing on earth. (Psalm 73:25)
I said to the Lord, 'You are my Lord;
Apart from you I have no good thing. (Psalm 16:2)
This is the mind set of those with the Kingdom of God within them.
This is the mind set of The Bride of Christ.
Seek First The Kingdom Of God!
Christ Jesus said: Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness,
And all these things (everything you have need of)
Will be given to you as well. (Matthew. 6:33)
The “good news” is that the Kingdom of God
Is available to every living person
Who seeks the Kingdom of God above all else.
