(Amos
8, substituting America for Israel)
Thus
the Lord God showed to me:
Behold,
a basket of [ripe and therefore soon-to-perish ] summer fruit.
And
He said, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A basket of summer fruit.
Then
said the Lord to me, the END has come upon My people America;
I
will not pass by and spare them any more.
And
the songs of the Temple shall become wailings in that day,
Says
the Lord God;
The
dead bodies shall be many;
In
every place they shall be cast forth in silence.
Here
this, O you who would swallow up and trample down the needy,
Even
to make the poor of the land to fail and come to and end,
Saying,
When will the new moon festival be past, that we may sell grain?
And
the sabbath, that we may offer wheat for sale,
Making
the ephah measure small, and the shekel measure great,
And
falsifying the scales by deceit.
[Today,
the Federal Reserve falsifies the value of the dollar,
Printing
“funny money” at the whim of the political environment;
Ultimately making everyone poor.]
That
we may buy [into slavery] the poor for silver
And
the needy for a pair of sandals;
Yes,
and sell the refuse of the wheat [ as if it were good grade]?
[Today
the US government has enslaved its people
And
especially this generation to an accumulation of a debt
That
will never be repaid.]
The
Lord has sworn by [Himself Who is] the glory and pride of America,
Surely
I will never forget any of their [rebellious] deeds.
[America's
sin is ever before the Lord; Yet most of America is blind to it;
If
it is not repented of, it will never be forgiven
And
has already brought a curse upon the land;
The
Lord has lifted His hand of blessing.]
Shall
not the land tremble on this account,
And
every one mourn who dwells in it?
Yes,
it shall all of it rise like the river [Nile],
And
it shall be tossed about and sink back again to normal level,
As
does the Nile of Egypt.
And
in that day, says the Lord God, I will cause the sun to go down at
noon, And I will darken the earth in the broad daylight time. [Ezek.
32:7-10]
And
I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into
lamentation;
And
I will cause sackcloth to be put upon ALL loins,
And
baldness [for mourning] shall come on every head;
And
I will make it as the mourning for and only son,
And
the end of it as a bitter day.
'Behold,
the days come, says the Lord God,
That
I will send a famine in the land,
Not
a famine of bread , not a thirst for water,
But
a famine for hearing the Words of the Lord.
And
the people shall wander from sea to sea,
And
from the north even to the east,
They
shall run to and fro to seek the Word of the Lord--
Inquiring
for and requiring it [as one requires food]--
But
shall not find it.
In
that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
Those
who swear by Ashimah or the sin of Samaria, and say,
By
the life of your god [the golden calf], O Dan! And swear ,
By
the life of the way of [idolatrous] Beersheba,
They
shall fall and rise no more.' (Amos 8:1-14 AMP)
[O how numerous are your idols America; who can count them?]
[Today,
America is suffering from a famine of TRUTH!
A
famine of the Whole Word Of God!
America
is deceived into thinking that she can do as she pleases,
As
if God and His Word and His Christ did not exist;
That
He is not the same God as in the day of Amos or Isaiah, or Jeremiah
Or
any of the other of God's Prophets.
America
is as ignorant of God as the day is long.
So
she will learn the terrible lesson
Of
the prideful, arrogant, godless, sinful nations that preceded her;
That
have been rendered impotent or lie in the dust.]
Today,
the world is raging against God, rushing toward oblivion. (Psalm 2)
Save
yourself from this corrupt generation! (Acts 2:40)
As
God has written, so shall it be! Hallelujah! Maranatha!
