HUMA 'FRUSTRATED' WITH HILLARY'S USE OF PRIVATE EMAIL

Clinton didn't 'want any risk of the personal being accessible' – 'not able to do her job'

Hillary Clinton’s top aide expressed frustration at her former boss’ use of her private email server to conduct State Department business, noting that it interfered with the then secretary’s ability to do her job, according to documents published Wednesday.

Judicial Watch released the deposition transcript of Huma Abedin, former deputy chief of staff to Hillary Clinton throughout her four years as secretary of state and who also had an email account on the ClintonEmail.com system. The deposition transcript is available here.

Abedin, who is currently vice chairwoman of Clinton’s presidential campaign, was deposed by attorneys for Judicial Watch in a Freedom of Information lawsuit that seeks records covering the employment status of Abedin. The lawsuit was reopened following revelations about Hillary Clinton’s private email server and her conducting of official business on her personal ClintonEmail.com account.

Abedin was questioned about a November 2012 email she sent Clinton saying they “should talk about putting you on state email or releasing your email address to the department so you are not going to spam.” The context of the message was a missed scheduled phone call due to an unseen message that was directed to spam.

Abedin’s attempt to prevent further communication mishaps was rejected by Clinton, who responded she could get a “separate address or device” for State Department messages, but she didn’t “want any risk of the personal being accessible,” according to the e-mail chain, reported Bloomberg News. Abedin answered that missing important messages was “not a good system.”

Commenting on the exchange in her deposition, Abedin said Clinton seemed frustrated with being “not being able to do her job” because of the email arrangement. “I seem frustrated back because I’m not [able to do my job].”

Abedin, who was described by witnesses as “cooperative,” said Clinton’s reference to “the personal” regarded personal messages exchanged with others and not any inappropriate handling of government documents.

“I would imagine anybody who has personal e-mail doesn’t want that personal e-mail to be read by anybody else,” she noted in the transcript.

Abedin said the decision to use the private email server was Clinton’s. Clinton, like many members of the Senate, used private email accounts while she served in the Senate. Abedin said she saw use of ClintonEmail.com as a continuation of the same practice when Clinton moved to the State Department. Abedin said Clinton did not have an official Senate email account or even an official Clinton-campaign address in 2008.

Abedin, Chelsea Clinton and a few other aides were given email accounts on the private server.

Abedin acknowledged using ClintonEmail.com for official business, but said she generally used her official State.gov account. State Department personnel would communicate with her at ClintonEmail.com when there were problems with the State.gov system. When asked if Clinton ever objected to her using ClintonEmail.com to conduct State Department business, Abedin answered, “No, not that I remember. No.”

Abedin testified that while she was at the State Department, she had not been advised against using a personal email account, nor did she believe Clinton had been so advised.

“I don’t remember a specific conversation with somebody – with somebody telling – telling me that,” said Abedin. “And I assumed it was okay to do. I don’t – as I’ve stated earlier, my practice was to use State.gov for my work e-mail.

“Did I think I wasn’t allowed to use Clinton e-mail? No. I thought I – I thought that was permitted. But my – my practice was to use State.gov.”

Judicial Watch released a collection of Abedin-Clinton emails Monday that revealed messages that had not been included in 2014 when Clinton claimed to have turned over “all potentially work-related emails.”

Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, said the disparity showed Clinton “did not turn over all” records she had.

“I keep on asking, ‘What else is out there?'” Fitton said.

FEDERAL COURT ORDERS SCHOOLS TO END ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIAS

Awards $150,000 in case called 'major victory'

It’s being hailed as good news in the unfolding battle for religious freedom: A Christian ministry has won its three-year legal struggle against an Ohio school district accused of discriminating against the faith-based group.

The Child Evangelism Fellowship of Ohio won the legal battle against the Cleveland Metropolitan School District as a federal district court approved a Consent Order finding that the school district violated CEF’s constitutional rights to equal access.

The court is requiring Cleveland Metro Schools to change its facility-use policies, and ordering it to pay $150,000 in damages and attorney’s fees.

The Child Evangelism Fellowship, or CEF, filed suit in 2013 with the backing of Liberty Counsel, seeking equal access to CMSD’s public school facilities for CEF’s after-school, Christian character education Good News Clubs.

Liberty Counsel announced the court ruling as a “major victory for equal access” on its website.

The school district was providing free after-school access to non-religious community groups, such as the Boy Scouts, but refused to treat CEF equally. Instead, the school district imposed facility fees which CEF could not pay, resulting in the shutdown of the Good News Club.

As a result of this victory, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District is now required to change its policies to ensure that religious groups are not discriminated against in the future, and receive the same access and benefits to public facilities as similarly situated non-religious groups.

Child Evangelism Fellowship has been encouraging learning, spiritual growth and service to others for more than 70 years and is currently active in every state in the U.S., as well as over 183 countries. Good News Clubs worldwide are providing religious and moral education to children in 43,186 clubs.

“The district allowed secular use at no cost and at one time allowed CEF the same treatment but that changed when a new administrator stopped treating CEF equally.” said Matt Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel. “We sent letters to no avail and have been litigating this for several years to win the case.

“Equal access is a simple concept. It means equal treatment without dissimulation against Christian viewpoints. While equal access is simple the school district had to learn the hard way. Good News Clubs are the best thing for public schools. Every elementary school should have a Good News Club.”

In an April 2013 CEF survey, more than 87 percent of principals responded that after-school Good News Clubs have been a positive experience for their schools, and over 52 percent reported improved behavior from students who participate in them.

Roseann Canfora, chief spokeswoman for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, did not immediately return WND’s calls and emails Wednesday seeking comment.

Horatio Mihet, vice president of Legal Affairs and Chief Litigation at Liberty Counsel, said equal access means equal access.

“Public schools cannot discriminate against Christian viewpoints. It is a shame that CMSD wasted three years in litigation to learn a basic civics and constitutional lesson,” she said. “We are elated with this victory for CEF, for equal access, and for our Constitution.”

DHS SEC CLAIMS IGNORANCE OF 'PURGE' OF INTEL 'OFFENSIVE TO MUSLIMS'

Ted Cruz confronts Jeh Johnson with testimony of Philip Haney

Two days after a former Department of Homeland Security employee testified that his agency “purged” records related to a terrorist network in the United States, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, confronted DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson in a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Cruz, pointing to a graphic documenting DHS’s elimination of Islamic terminology from its reports, posed to Johnson Philip Haney’s testimony Tuesday before a subcommittee he chairs. 

Haney testified  the administration “modified” or eliminated more than 800 of his records related to the Muslim Brotherhood network in the U.S. because they were an offense to Muslims.

“Was that testimony accurate?” Cruz asked.

“I have no idea,” Johnson replied. “I don’t know who Mr. Haney is. I wouldn’t know him if he walked in the room.”

“So, you have not investigated whether your department ordered documents to be modified?” Cruz followed up.

“No, I have not taken the time to investigate what Mr. Haney says. No.” Johnson said.

What Haney witnessed in more than a dozen years as a founding member of the DHS is recounted in his new bestselling book, “See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad.”

Cruz then asked Johnson if it would concern him if Haney’s testimony was accurate.

“Senator, I find this whole debate to be interesting, but I have to tell you,” Johnson replied, “when I was at the Department of Defense giving the legal sign-off on a lot of drone strikes, I didn’t particularly care whether the baseball card said Islamic extremist or violent extremist. I think this is very interesting, but it makes no difference to me in terms of who we need to go after, who is determined to attack our homeland.

“I think this is all very interesting, makes for good political debate,” he continued, “but in practical terms, if we, in our efforts, here in the homeland, start giving the Islamic State the credence that they want, to be referred to as part of Islam, or some form of Islam, we get nowhere in our efforts to build bridges with Muslim communities.”

Cruz noted his question was whether or not information had been scrubbed.

“I would note the title of the hearing on Tuesday was ‘Willful Blindness,’ and your testimony to this full committee now is that you have no idea and apparently have no intention of finding out whether DHS materials had been scrubbed,” Cruz said.

“And you suggested just a moment ago that it’s a semantic difference,” the senator continued. “Well, I don’t believe it’s a semantic difference, that when you erase references to radical jihad, it impacts the behavior of law enforcement and national security to respond to red flags and prevent terrorist attacks before they occur.”

As WND reported Tuesday, a Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee chaired by Cruz held a hearing titled “Willful Blindness: Consequences of Agency Efforts To Deemphasize Radical Islam in Combating Terrorism” in which Haney testified.

Cruz chastised his Democrat colleagues on the panel for showing no concern about Haney’s testimony.

“Apparently, the Orwellian censorship of law enforcement materials and intelligence materials is not a concern to my colleagues,” Cruz said.

“And at a time when we’re facing a global war on terror, I would hope that my colleagues on the Democratic side of the aisle will express real concern about a censorship and editing of law enforcement materials.”

Emphasizing his point about the administration’s propensity to scrub mention of Islam, Cruz pointed to the recent 9-1-1 transcript in which Orlando killer Omar Mateen’s declaration of allegiance to ISIS was redacted. The senator used a chart to illustrate the fact that the 9/11 report used the word “jihad” 126 times while there are zero occurrences of the word in more recent administration documents related to terrorism.

In his first opportunity to ask questions, Cruz told Haney his testimony before the committee is “exceptionally important.”

“I commend both members of the media and the American public to examine your testimony closely, because you have described a systematic policy, indeed of scrubbing, sanitizing, erasing references to radical Islam,” Cruz told the recently retired DHS officer.

In addition, Haney said, a highly successful case he helped develop as a member of one of the National Targeting Center’s advanced units was shut down by Hillary Clinton’s State Department and the DHS Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties out of concern for the “rights” of foreign Muslims. And after Haney retired honorably last year, he discovered that had his case continued, it might have prevented both the Orlando and the San Bernardino attacks.

Along with the quashing of the case in June 2012, the administration subsequently ordered the deletion of an additional 67 records concerning a related network.

MULTICULTURALISM: INCONSISTENT WITH LIBERTY

German Chancellor Angela Merkel declared that multiculturalism has “utterly failed,” adding that it was an illusion to think Germans and foreign workers could “live happily side by side.” The failure of multiculturalism is also seen in Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and other European countries. 

Immigrants coming from Africa and the Middle East refuse to assimilate and instead seek to import the failed cultures they fled.

Leftist diversity advocates and multiculturalists are right to argue that people of all races, religions and cultures should be equal in the eyes of the law. But their argument borders on idiocy when they argue that one set of cultural values cannot be judged superior to another and that to do so is Eurocentrism.

That’s unbridled nonsense. 

Ask a diversity/multiculturalism advocate: Is forcible female genital mutilation, as practiced in nearly 30 sub-Saharan African and Middle Eastern countries, a morally equivalent cultural value? 

Slavery is practiced in northern Sudan. In most of the Middle East, there are numerous limits placed on women, such as prohibitions on driving, employment and education. Under Islamic law, in some countries, female adulterers face death by stoning, and thieves are punished by having their hand severed. In some African and Middle Eastern countries, homosexuality is a crime, in some cases punishable by death.

Are all these cultural values morally equivalent to those of the West?

The vital achievement of the West was the concept of individual rights, which saw its birth with the Magna Carta in 1215. The idea emerged that individuals have certain inalienable rights. Individuals do not exist to serve government; governments exist to protect their rights. 

But it was not until the 19th century that ideas of liberty received broad recognition. In the West, it was mostly through the works of British philosophers, such as John Locke, David Hume, Adam Smith and John Stuart Mill.

Personal liberty implies toleration of differences among people, whether those differences are racial, sexual, ideological or political. 

Liberty also implies a willingness to permit others who disagree with you to go their separate ways. 

This is not the vision of the new immigrants. In some parts of Britain, Christians are threatened with violence for merely handing out Bibles. Trying to convert Muslims to Christianity is seen as a hate crime. 

Women are accosted by Muslim men for “improper” dress. 

Many women are sexually assaulted. In many European countries, “no-go zones” – where civil authorities will not enter – in which Shariah is practiced have been established. According to the Express, “London, Paris, Stockholm and Berlin are among the major European cities that feature on a bombshell list of 900 lawless zones with large immigrant populations.”

Both in Europe and in the U.S., multiculturalism is a leftist elitist vision with its roots in academia. 

The intellectual elite, courts and government agencies push an agenda that is anything but a defense of individual rights, freedom from conformity and a live-and-let-live philosophy. Instead, multiculturalism/diversity is an agenda for all kinds of conformity – conformity in ideas, actions and speech. 

It calls for re-education programs where diversity managers indoctrinate students, faculty members, employees, managers and executives on what’s politically correct thinking. 

Part of that lesson is nonjudgmentalism, where one is taught that one lifestyle is just as worthy as another and all cultures and their values are morally equivalent.

Western values are superior to all others. 

But one need not be a Westerner to hold Western values. A person can be Chinese, Japanese, Jewish, African or Arab and hold Western values. By the way, it is no accident that Western values of reason and individual rights have produced unprecedented health, life expectancy, wealth and comfort for the ordinary person.

There’s an indisputable positive relationship between liberty and standards of living. There is also indisputable evidence that we in the West are unwilling to defend ourselves from barbarians. Just look at our response to the recent Orlando massacre, in which we’ve focused our energies on guns rather than on terrorists.

Emails show struggle to integrate in area aggressively resettling thousands

(DAILY CALLER) Emails between school officials at one Canadian high school reveal the school has been struggling to integrate into the school adult Syrian refugees, who reportedly are bullying and threatening students and teachers, as well as making advances on young teenage girls.

One email from the head of the school’s international students department expressed concern that the Brussels attack would have a “trickle down” effect on the refugee students.

After receiving a tip about Fredericton High School in New Brunswick, Canada — a region that has been aggressively resettling thousands of Syrian refugees — Canadian news organization TheRebel submitted a freedom of information request to the school, asking for any information regarding problems the school might be having with the integration of Syrian immigrants.
