October 13th! The last day to register to vote! 20% of our population is not registered to vote. 20% or more of those registered don’t vote! Some say 40% of evangelical/Catholic would-be prolife voters are not voting, or registered to vote. Why do we have the scourge of abortion on demand? Why do we have other social ills? Will God someday judge our country for allowing this corporate sin? The simple act of registration to vote and voting might lead to better representation, change laws and an end to these ills!

Here is a quote from CBN News worth reading, "The goal is to get Christians across America more engaged in the political process – 90 million Christians in America are eligible to vote, but as many as 40 million fail to vote in Presidential election cycles. And 15 million are not even registered to vote, according to the My Faith Votes website."

What can be done to help Oregon change? Can we do something about those among our friends who are not registered? One thing that you can do is remind people to pray for our leaders, even more so with the revelation of the President suffering from Covid. Another thing we could do is host non-partisan Voter Registration Sunday. This could consist of just simple reminders and a website reference from the pulpit, or something in the bulletin. A more constructive approach would be to host a table with registration materials that people can use right then to register. We have October 3rd and 11th before the registration deadline for the November Election!
