(CNSNews.com) - The latest CDC data shows that the 26 states led by Republican governors have fewer than half the COVID-involved deaths of the 24 states (and D.C.) led by Democrats.
Based on death certificates recorded by the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics as of August 1, 43,832 people have died of COVID in the 26 states led by Republican governors, which is 46.03 percent of the 95,205 people who have died in states (and D.C.) where Democrats hold the highest office.
New York City has had so many COVID-involved deaths (20,520) it merits a line of its own in the CDC table showing provisional deaths from COVID.
