It is my heart’s desire to shine as brightly as I can for Christ, for as long as I can, to as many people as I can.
Jesus does not put you on the shelf. He has a special niche especially for each of us in His edifice. He said:
“You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14)—
single lamps, and also many lights together. It was a single lamp when He said it should be “put…on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house” (verse 15). One-candlepower for one house. But He also said:
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14).
A city is not one-candlepower but a million-candlepower. When Christ said: “You are the light of the world,” it was a plural “you.” He brings “many lights” together, people combining, mingling flame with flame.
