Dear Tom,
All of us at D. James Kennedy Ministries are thankful for God’s grace and mercy in protecting our families from harm and our homes and the D. James Kennedy Ministries’ offices located in Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church from any damage from hurricane Irma. The church was also spared from any damage.
Early reports had indicated this storm would have a devastating impact on Florida’s east coast, and Fort Lauderdale was right in its crosshairs. However, when the hurricane took a more westward track along Florida’s Gulf coast instead of the making landfall on the Atlantic coast as was initially forecast, we were spared from the worst of the storm.
We are thankful for God’s mercy and grace upon us and thankful that we were spared the brunt force of this large and powerful storm, which was the first major hurricane to make landfall in our state since 2005 when hurricane Wilma ravaged Florida. However, many others in the Caribbean islands, the Florida Keys, and the west coast of Florida suffered from the intensity of hurricane Irma’s winds and the destructive force of rising flood waters.
We are continuing to pray for those whose homes and property were destroyed or damaged by this hurricane and especially for those who lost family members to its deadly force. May they find hope and strength and comfort in Jesus and may His power and strength sustain them through the coming weeks and months of rebuilding, for only “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” (Psalm 46:1).
Sincerely,
Frank Wright, Ph.D. President and CEO D. James Kennedy Ministries
