(CNSNews.com) – The National Institutes of Health through its National Institute of Nursing Research awarded $42,676 in taxpayer funds to Duke University to study parents’ communication with their gay sons about sex.

“The study will explore the perspective of gay adolescent males with communication about sex from parents. The study will provide the foundation for interventions to help parents effectively inform their gay sons about how to reduce their chances of being infected with HIV,” the grant stated.
