TREY GOWDY'S PLAN TO STOP OBAMA'S AMNESTY

Conservative Tribune

BOOM: Trey Gowdy Launches Plan to Stop Obama NOW

South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy has introduced a bill that would de-fund Obama’s executive order for amnesty and expedite the removal of criminal foreign nationals from the U.S.
Gowdy stated, “For decades, Americans have been promised a secure border and an immigration system that works for all Americans. Those promises have not been kept and both political parties bear responsibility for that.”
“This legislation allows state and local governments to assist in the enforcement of our federal immigration laws. By doing so, we remove the ability of this or future Presidents – of either party – to systematically shut down portions of the law to suit their political purposes.” (H/T The Daily Caller)
This bill, named after the California police officer Michael Davis Jr. who was killed by an illegal immigrant, provides a means for state and local governments to reinforce federal immigration laws.
In 2013, 36,000 illegal immigrants had been released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. One of these illegal immigrants shot and killed Officer Davis at a traffic stop.
This bill would also allow implement an annual review system to evaluate the executive branch’s use of prosecutorial discretion in immigration cases. This particular aspect of the bill is a checks and balances for thehandling of immigrants who might pose a threat to national security.
Gowdy stated in his announcement of this legislation, that if a long term solution to our border is to be reached, then interior enforcement must be addressed.
This bill would destroy Obama’s amnesty by executive order by cutting all funding to it. It would also prevent Obama, or any future president, from shutting down immigration enforcement by giving the power of enforcement to state and local governments.
This bill would also cut funding to “sanctuary cities.” These are cities that prevent law enforcement from asking about immigration status.
This legislation would also allow for a faster deportation process, and if the individuals cannot be deported quickly, this bill would allow the Department of Homeland Security to hold them.
If a country were to refuse to accept their citizens deported from the U.S., then they would face sanctions under this bill.
Illegal immigrants with DUI’s would also be detained. Currently, Obama doesn’t consider a DUI to be a serious enough offense to justify the detention of someone who isn’t even supposed to be in our country.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers would be granted greater authority in the arrest of illegal immigrants. This bill would also allow for all of these officers to carry a firearm.
This bill would also prevent terrorists from being naturalized, as well as allowing for the revocation of student visas to individuals who pose a threat to national security.
Gowdy’s right. For far too long, politicians have promised to strengthen our border. No one has ever delivered this promise.
Instead, our current president creates an executive order to make millions of illegal immigrants U.S. citizens.
This bill would not only stop Obama’s amnesty plan, but would finally deliver us the border security promised to us by so many politicians.
