The Eyes Of The Lord Look For Loyalty

Non-Stop Trending = by Anna Darlene Edmondson
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV).
Years ago, our sons Elijah, Luke and Gabriel loved it when their dad (Lee) came home from work and took them hiking through the woods. As toddlers, the children tuckered-out easily and begged, “Daddy carry me, daddy please?” Gladly, he picked up Luke and held him in one arm and Gabriel in the other but the oldest little guy Elijah walked alongside. Meandering happily, Elijah often fell down; then repeated the process. I recall watching Lee as he patiently waited for Elijah to stand upright and begin following again.
Sweet remembrances like those linger in my mind and when they do I think of our heavenly Father. I’m grateful we have a long-suffering Abba-Daddy who stands by in attendance, keeping watch as we stumble through life. To be honest, we need to humble ourselves quite often (or at least I do) and ask, “Daddy, carry me, please.” Imagine trying to walk without Him holding our hands.
To be sure, God is always alert, trending, hovering, expecting and looking after His children. He purposely involves Himself with us. In fact, there’s been an all-seeing eye on the whole earth; observing from above since it was created. “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight (Hebrews 4:13). Securely, He’s got the whole world in His hands, and that brings great comfort to me considering the degradation of our nations. What’s my point? In the same way my husband Lee carefully and gingerly favors his (now grown) sons and daughter, our Father does the same for His children.
