Email the Secretary of the Air Force to protect religious liberties for AirmenApril 15, 2014Tom,In response to the outcry over the removal of a Bible verse from a cadet's message board at the Air Force Academy, Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James says the military branch's restrictions on religious expression will be reviewed. Finally, the Air Force is listening to someone other than the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and its atheist leader, Mikey Weinstein. The secretary said Air Force officials, chaplains and legal officers will meet this month to ensure that the policy barring service members from pressing their beliefs on subordinates complies with the federal law funding the nation's military. "We're all going to go offsite and we're going to talk about this policy, and we're going to put it up against the recent laws that have been passed," she stated. Primarily, the policy should protect a service member's ability to practice and express hi s or her religious beliefs.
