When
I came to you, brothers
I
did not come with eloquence or Superior Wisdom
As
I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.
For
I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ
And
Him Crucified.
I
came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.
My
message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words,
But
with a demonstration of the Spirit's Power,
So
that your Faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's Power.
(1
Corinthians 2:1-5)
Today,
who does what the apostle Paul speaks of here?
Who
demonstrates the Power of God?
Rather,
do not preachers try to be eloquent?
And
do not people flock to hear eloquence?
And
where is the Power of God demonstrated?
Does
the Faith of most Christians lie in God's Word
And His demonstrated
Power
Or
the eloquence of preachers?
Man
can produce eloquence, but only God can demonstrate His Power.
The
apostle Paul is saying here
That your Faith should not rest on
eloquent words
But
on God's Power.
It
is God's Power that brings SOUL SAVING CONVICTION.
It
is God's Power that Baptizes in the Holy Spirit.
It
is God's Power that enables us to speak to Him
In
a language we do not understand.
It
is God's Power that heals the sick and raises the dead.
Without
a demonstration of God's Power we have simply a religion of man.
Which
is the religion that Christ Jesus encountered in His day.
The
apostle Paul goes on to say:
We
do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature,
But
not the wisdom of this age
Or
of the RULERS of this age, who are coming to NOTHING.
NO,
we speak of God's SECRET WISDOM,
A
wisdom that has been HIDDEN and that God destined for our Glory
Before
time began.
NONE
of the RULERS of this age understood it,
For
if they had, the would not have Crucified the Lord of Glory.
However,
it is written:
'No
eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind conceived
What
God has prepared for those who love Him'
But
God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.
The
Spirit searches ALL THINGS even the DEEP THINGS of God.
For
who among men knows the thoughts of a man
Except
the man's spirit within him?
In
the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of
God.
We
have not received the spirit of the world
But
the Spirit Who is from God,
That
we may UNDERSTAND what God has freely given us.
This
is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom
But
in words taught by the Spirit,
Expressing
spiritual TRUTHS in spiritual words.
The
man without the Spirit does not accept the things
That
come from the Spirit of God,
For
they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them,
Because
they are spiritually discerned.
The
spiritual man makes judgments about ALL things,
But
he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
'For
who has known the mind of the Lord that we may instruct Him?'
(1 Corinthians 2:6-16)
When
our Faith rests on the Power of God
We are filled with the Spirit of
God,
And we walk in the Light of Christ
Jesus.
This is MATURITY in Christ Jesus.
The
RULERS of the age we live in do not understand the wisdom of God
Because it is a SECRET WISDOM,
Known only to those in whom the
Spirit of God lives.
The spirit of this world is Satan;
he rules the wicked world we live in
And every soul who does not belong
to Christ Jesus.
If
we belong to Christ Jesus and walk in His Light,
The Spirit of God reveals to us the
DEEP THINGS of God
And with this knowledge from God we
make judgments about ALL THINGS.
We possess His MIND.
I pray that those who read
this message belong to Christ Jesus
And are walking in His Light; have
His MIND
And are able to make sound judgments
about ALL THINGS.
This is the Power of God in action.
Today,
the world is raging against God, rushing toward oblivion. (Psalm 2)
America
is being ground to powder because of her SIN against God.
Save
yourself from this Corrupt Generation! (Acts 2:40)
As
God has written, so shall it be! Hallelujah! Maranatha!
Father,
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as in Heaven!
