Seeing The Unseen

Seeing the unseen is crucial for the Christian.
In fact it defines a Christian.
The apostle Paul said:
We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
(2 Corinthians 4:18)

The writer of Hebrews says:
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,
Who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame,
And sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)

When we can see the unseen,
We can see that this world in its present form is passing away.
(1 Corinthians 7:31)

We see that the rulers of this age are coming to nothing.
(1 Corinthians 2:6)

We see that the god of this age (Satan)
Has blinded the minds of unbelievers,
So that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,
Who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4)

We see that:
Whoever believes in him ( Christ Jesus) is not condemned,
But whoever does not believe stands condemned already
Because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world,
But men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
(John 3:18-19)

We see that:
Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world
Becomes an enemy of God. (James 4:4)

We see what Christ Jesus said:
If anyone would come after Me,
He must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it,
But whoever loses his life for Me will save it. (Luke 9:23-24)
The man who loves his life will lose it,
While the man who hates his life in this world
Will keep it for Eternal LIFE. (John 12:25)

We see what the apostle John said:
Do not love the world or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man,
The lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does
Comes not from the Father but from the world.
The world and its desires pass away,
But the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:15-17)

The whole world is under the control of the evil one. (1 John 5:19)

Seeing for the Christian, is seeing through the eyes of Christ Jesus;
Seeing through the eyes of the Spirit of God.
All else are blind, and under the control of the evil one.
We do not live in the kingdom of this world, but the Kingdom of God,
Which is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
We live in the Secret Place of the Most High God
And find rest in the shadow of His wings.
We are in this world but we are not of this world.

The apostle Paul said:
Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world,
Why, as though you still belonged to it,
Do you submit to its rules:
Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!'?
These are all destined to perish with use,
Because they are based on human commands and teachings.
Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom,
With their self-imposed worship, their false humility
And their harsh treatment of the body,
But they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
(Colossians 2:20-23)

King David said:
Whom have I in Heaven but you?
And being with You, I desire nothing on earth. (Psalm 73:25)

Can we see, and seeing, do we embrace the truth of Scripture?
Have we been crucified with Christ to this world and no longer live
But it is Christ who lives in us?
Our eternal destiny rests on the answer to this question.
