God's Love: Better Than Life

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you

My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you,

In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary

And beheld your power and your glory.

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

I will praise you as long as I live.

And in your name I will lift up my hands.

My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;

With singing lips my mouth will praise you.

I think of you through the watches of the night.

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.

I stay close to you; your right hand upholds me.

They who seek my life will be destroyed;

They will go down to the depths of the earth.

They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals.

But the king will rejoice in God;

All who swear by God's name will praise Him,

While the mouths of liars will be silenced. (Psalm 63 NIV)

The love of God is better than life itself

This life is temporary and His love is Eternal.

Because of this reality we seek Him with all our hearts;

In a dry and weary world where there is no Living Water,

He satisfies our souls with the richest of foods

By His Spirit living inside of us; by our communion with Him.

We have seen God in the sanctuary and beheld His power and glory.

We have seen His mighty works.

Therefore, our lips glorify Him and we praise Him as long as we live.

We lift up our hands in His name.

We remember Him on our bed at night, because He is our help.

We sing in the shadow of His wings; we stay close to Him.

We rejoice in God, our Savior and sustainer in all that comes our way.

We know that all who oppose God will be silenced. Hallelujah!
