"YOU ARE A CHOSEN PEOPLE"

 

Identity “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”  (1 Peter 2:9, NIV) The Israelites had a lot of problems but one of their biggest was not really knowing who they were.  They had been slaves for so long they didn't see themselves as chosen by God, they lost their identity, which led to continued unbelief, mistrust, rebellion and sin.  If only they understood who they were in God. We are His children, His special possession.  The Bible is filled with verses that remind us of who we are, what He has done for us, and how God sees us through Jesus Christ.  It's good to remind yourself of this daily.  Look for those verses and claim them as your own. We are loved, we are chosen, we are forgiven, we are redeemed, we are holy, and we have been adopted into the family of God.  I hope I live my life claiming these traits every day! This Sunday is Mother's Day and Kurt is speaking about rest.  It should be a great day with a photo booth, treats, and a gift for all women. Hope to see you all there!
