Be a Good Samaritan

 Cheryl Martin

“A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went off, leaving him dead.
And by chance a certain priest was going down on the road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
And likewise, a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
A certain Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, and came to him, and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.” Luke 10:30-34

Many people have issues that we are not aware of.
They may be physical, mental, emotional or even spiritual.
The world as we know it today tends to put a strain on these individuals. Unfortunately, people just seem to push others aside and only think of themselves.
Their attitudes selfish and self-absorbed.

By the scripture above we can tell this is not how God intends it to be.
He created us to be caring and loving beings.
We are to show compassion toward one another and not disrespect and hatred.
We were made in the image of God, but too many of us have turned our backs on that.

I implore you to step back and look in the mirror.
What do you see?
I pray you see God within you, but if not, I pray you pick up the Bible and start reading it and seek the Holy Spirits help and guidance.

Father, please help us to be like the Good Samaritan. Remind us of who we are in you. Help us to turn away from our selfish ways and to do your will. We no longer want to stand by without showing our appreciation towards You. To do that, we need to show love and compassion towards others. Amen.
