The Value of Your Redemption

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed 

With corruptible things, as silver and gold,- - - 

But with the precious blood of Christ, 

As of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 

(1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV).

Today, March 2024, bullion gold is valued at $2,164.65 per ounce, silver at $24.67, Platinum at $896.90. 

One unit of red blood cells costs a hospital about $211; plasma about $60.70. 

The average male body contains about twelve pints of blood, and the average female has about nine pints.

There is something much more valuable than precious metals or the life-saving liquid in the human body. 

Intrinsic value is based on the buyer's need and the item's availability. 

Their value would be slight if anybody could find precious metals while walking along the street. 

Blood becomes infinitely more valuable to the person whose life is at risk.

But our redemption – how do you measure the value? 

The precious blood of Christ – how much is that worth? 

If I give blood, perhaps my blood could save many lives over time. 

But we are not talking about a mere human's blood. 

This is the blood of Christ.

His blood is of infinitely more value than mine. 

His shed blood has already saved and will continue to save millions of lives. 

It secures an eternity in heaven with Christ for every believer.

Because He paid for our sins with His blood, God forgives us, makes us a new creation in Christ, and we can spend the rest of our lives preparing for a glorious future. 

We are redeemed (purchased out of the slave market of sin) with the blood of Christ. 

Paul made a marvelous application of all of this. 

"For ye are bought with a price: 

Therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, 

Which are God's."
