I Know the Strength of God

Vernita Simmons

When faced with impossible odds, they always seem overwhelming.
You may become afraid, uncertain of your future, and discouraged. Despite your faith in God, when all you see is an unmovable mountain, it could cause you to doubt His ability.
Still, the only way to overcome those fears is to be like David and face them head-on.
This young lad heard the giant Goliath boasting and bragging and decided to do something.
He went to King Saul and insisted on challenging Goliath, and though Saul thought he was crazy, he granted the request (cf. 1 Samuel 17:31-58 KJV).

What would make him do such a foolish thing?
The reason is David did not have to know Goliath’s strength or his victories.
He knew something Goliath did not know.
David knew how mighty God was because David had a profound history with the Lord.
He stepped in front of Goliath because he was already victorious.
In other words, this battle was over before it began.
Before Goliath could do anything, David ran toward him and with one smooth stone, took down this horrid giant; then with the sword of the enemy, cut off his head.

Sometimes, we must face our giants to overcome our fears.
And when we do, God ‘has our back!’
There is no challenge now or in the future that the Almighty has not already fixed.
No weapon formed will prosper because nothing you are facing is mightier than the Lord.
When all you see is a mountain, He sees the mountain removed.
When all you see is an impossible situation, He sees the end, and the victory is yours.
Be encouraged Beloved, because God always takes what the enemy meant for evil and turns it around for your greater good. (cf. Romans 8:28 KJV).
