The UNESCO plan states, in part:
"National, regional, and global governance systems should be able to cooperate and share practices … in addressing content that could be permissibly restricted under international human rights law and standards."
Social media has "accelerated and amplified the spread of false information and hate speech, posing major risks to societal cohesion, peace, and stability ...
[W]e must regulate these platforms without delay," said UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, a Socialist Party member from France.
So if anyone says something that some government decides could pose a risk to "societal cohesion," that is reason to censor. Think elections, COVID lockdowns and shot mandates, abortion, LGBTQ, Critical Race Theory, Whiteness, and whatever else the socialists want.
But don't worry, these globalists will only censor "content that can be permissibly restricted under international human rights law and standards."
And guess WHO will set those standards?
In America, we have already experienced the Biden administration using the force of government to require social media to censor speech.
That case is now pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.
But even if the Court rules against the government, it will not matter if Biden signs America on to the WHO's IHR amendments.
This is a clear danger to freedom everywhere, and the Biden administration is pushing hard to expand this censorship globally via the WHO!
We need to fax Congress to block this global attack on freedom.
Back in Europe, time is running out before the "Digital Services Act" mandates go into effect.
"The issue with this legislation is that there are extremely vague categories such as misinformation and hate speech that are very, very difficult to define in law ... so this opens the door to a form of arbitrary bureaucratic power over the platforms," says David Thunder, a political philosopher and research fellow at the Institute for Culture & Society at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.
He warns: "They can also declare an emergency, and in the event of declaring an emergency, require the platforms to take special measures to counteract the emergency. ... So it can become part of a war machine, in a sense."
When certain content is limited in 27 nations, that will also impact what is heard in other nations.
Like the abuse of the pandemic "emergencies," these globalists want to use the guise of an "emergency" for nearly unlimited power.
Demand that Congress STOP Joe Biden's administration from giving away our freedom to a WHO-led one world government. Urge Congress to pass HR 79 to defund and exit the WHO now.
If radical globalists get their way, we will not have any recourse in American courts.
In 1992, George H.W. Bush signed us on to a climate change treaty, which was ratified by the U.S. Senate.
In 2016, Barack Obama signed us on to the Paris Accords without Senate approval because the underlying treaty had previously been ratified.
In 2005, George W. Bush signed America on to the WHO IHR amendments, arguing that the prior WHO treaty was ratified in 1948.
Now, Biden wants to sign America on to the 307 amendments to the WHO IHR, arguing, like W, that the Senate ratified the WHO treaty in 1948.
If America supports the WHO, a majority of the 194 member nations will join.
To become effective, the massive revisions to the WHO's IHR only need a majority of nations to vote in favor.
Demand Congress defund the WHO and stop Biden from ceding our sovereignty. With Mike leading the House, this is a new day.
Right now, I'm working on an amicus brief regarding the Biden administration's censorship via social media.
We have had a front row seat to the censorship already happening in our nation.
We can win this case at the Supreme Court but lose the battle on a global scale.
If the WHO gains this authority, our Supreme Court will be set aside for the World Court.
In other words, if we win domestically, we could ultimately lose if Biden signs America on to the WHO's IHR.
Under the new House leadership of Speaker Mike Johnson, we have a fighting chance to win this battle.
