Sen. Rand Paul (R, KY) has criminally referred Dr. Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice over his alleged dishonesty during committee hearings.
Paul focused on a 2020 an email in which Fauci spoke of how a number of “highly credible” scientists had expressed concern that mutations in the Coronavirus were intentional, and that “the suspicion was heightened by the fact that scientists in Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments.”
Paul says that Fauci’s statements in the email represent a direct contradiction of his testimony before the senator while in committee.
“'When Anthony Fauci came before my committee, he said absolutely he funded no gain of function research in China. We have an email where he describes the research they are doing. They said you know what? We are suspicious of the lab because we know they are doing gain of function research.”
