Breaking News: Pakistani Christians Attacked by Mobs

The Voice of the Suffering and Persecuted

Dear Friend,

We have just been notified that Christians are fleeing en masse from the Punjab town of Jaranwala, Pakistan as radicals began throwing rocks and stones and setting fire to homes and churches.

Chaos and attacks on Christians are linked to an accusation of blasphemy against a house cleaner accused of desecrating the Qur’an and insulting the Prophet of Islam.

We were informed by one of our contacts in Faisalabad that there are messages from mosques going out over loudspeakers calling on local people to “go out and kill” Christians.

One faithful in Faisalabad told us: “It is absolutely terrifying. We do not know what is going to happen next.”

A clergy member on the ground told us that he doesn’t see the situation ending soon, that fanatics are intent on violence in response to the alleged blasphemy accusation.

Aid to the Church in Need is on the scene and will assist the Church with its needs.

Please stand by us at this time and help us to assist those who are fleeing for their lives

Yesterday, Father Abid Tanveer, vicar general of Faisalabad Catholic diocese, pleaded with us, “This situation has been very terrifying. Christians are very scared. Please pray for our people, pray that their lives may be protected. So many people have lost their belongings, everything. They don’t know what to do or where to go.”

We will provide religious what they need to help those who are being forced from their homes, those in fear for themselves and their families. Whether it is shelter, food, clothing, or trauma counseling, we will aid the local church and the faithful.

Please help us as we see firsthand, right now, our Pakistani brothers and sisters being persecuted. Thank you and God bless you.

Sincerely,

Sarkis Boghjalian
